BREWPUBEAVER 06-24-2005 01:11 PM

i think the car looks great.
i would suggest seeing if you can have someone edit/crop it to look like what you want.
IDWRX 06-24-2005 01:12 PM

Yay on the CF hood, Nay on the roof and trunk.
djcttb 06-24-2005 01:14 PM
Yay on the CF hood, Nay on the roof and trunk.
i hate cf hoods unless it has a theme

(thats why my hood is painted cf :o )
living4surf 06-24-2005 01:20 PM

I say leave it alone it looks great and I don't really like the two tone look.
4Play 06-24-2005 01:30 PM

are u in team emotion?
glilly 06-24-2005 01:31 PM

Ryan, your special order vinyl is here. ;)
BurtonCR 06-24-2005 01:31 PM

What about a CF roof. They do make them.
djcttb 06-24-2005 01:45 PM

djcttb 06-24-2005 01:45 PM

ps - anymore info on a cf roof?
thatd be hot
Jason02WRXCT 06-24-2005 01:45 PM

Leave it alone. It looks awsome
russd32 06-24-2005 01:47 PM

I dig the two tone look. I think your car would supafly with some black/cf.
BillyC 06-24-2005 01:50 PM

I think the car looks great now, as it is......
Moods 06-24-2005 01:50 PM

I think the cf would look alright, i prefer it on darker cars...

I'm not a fan of two-tone though

It is definitely a nice looking ride as-is though.
BurtonCR 06-24-2005 02:43 PM

Im thinking launsport makes one and its not the worst price. Let me do a little research, I will find it.
glilly 06-24-2005 02:49 PM

Ryan, i'm closed on Saturdays, ...but will be here Saturday, July 2nd for the big Subaru shin-dig / BBQ / shop day / mini-meet thingy.

CF roof would be sweet,...I think you just have to find someone that can / will lay it and resin it on your existing roof. What a PITA.

My opinion is if you satrt with carbon fiber, it's hard to stop. ANd your car does look so clean w/o it. I'd be hard pressed not to tell you, ...leave well enough alone. ;)

Greg :)

I say if you're going 2-tone, do it all with paint, and bring the dividing line down to just over the wheel openings. I've seen a dark blue-over-silver sedan painted like that & lookin' great.

By itself, however, a partially painted CF hood is uber-hot. Bad-angle picture -- sorry.

MBREX02 06-24-2005 04:28 PM

I say don't mess with the car. I only like CF on white cars. Your color is so unique that you don't need any carbon fiber.
Kontradictions 06-24-2005 05:04 PM

no carbon here...i just think carbon is just getting way to played out.

wow my two favorite imprezas in one thread!
pyork03 06-24-2005 06:58 PM

I think it would look better being a solid color. Either way its still a hot car.
that1dude 06-24-2005 07:10 PM

Thats an awesome color. CF is tight, but that car looks well clean w/o it. May be replace front fender reflectors w/ cf but other than that....eh, no 2 tone. my $.02 :)
4Play 06-24-2005 08:08 PM

i have a carbon fiber roof and exterior a pillars they were custom layed
Im waiting to get a camera so i can get some pics up
pyork03 06-24-2005 09:36 PM

Well you better hurry up and get a damn camera. :D
ittybitty_STI 06-24-2005 11:34 PM

i thought about doing my car the silver metallic the platinum stock silver over the Graphite(IS300) color on bottom but i might just leave it solid platinum im not sure yet. i like both though. and CF is my Fav!

whered you get your "I" badge the silver one i like that alot!
Raslian 06-24-2005 11:39 PM

That carbon roof is hot. If I were going to put anymore carbon on that car, it'd definetely be the whole top side, hood, roof, and trunk.
living4surf 06-25-2005 12:03 AM

the carbon hood, roof and trunk would be pretty crazy

it's a pink i badge, i just took the pink off the back and had them paint the badge the color of my car. Turned out perfect!
ShiroChanWRX 06-25-2005 05:27 PM

i dunno. i like the painted two-tone look, but too much naked CF looks lame, IMO. definitely screaming out to be pulled over. i think that it is best reserved for show cars.

and in your case, why would you replace a perfect, unique paint job with CF? your car looks really, really classy and it is a look that no teenager with a civic can imitate with cheap CF. i think that it would be a bad move.

get CF if you want the weight reduction, but have it painted to match the rest of the car.
ittybitty_STI 06-25-2005 11:39 PM
it's a pink i badge, i just took the pink off the back and had them paint the badge the color of my car. turned out perfect!
How easy was it to take the two sides apart to paint it? was it a oven call for that? lol
Handsdown 06-26-2005 12:07 AM

i think you just scrape the paint off the back, that's what mine looks like.

but yeah, i say keep it.

if you didn't have such a sweet and unique paint job, i'd say go for a two tone, but as it is i think you should just keep it.
Kontradictions 06-26-2005 01:20 AM
How easy was it to take the two sides apart to paint it? was it a oven call for that? lol
just take off the tape on the back and start using a high grit sandpaper, like 1500 and water. It will take all the pink off and keep the clear surface smooth. Then use whatever color paint you want and your done. Took me about 10 minutes to do everything.
ittybitty_STI 06-26-2005 08:31 AM

Thanks it looks real good on your car! like it alot!
