Who's gonna be there?
I'm thinking I'll be going, not competing this time though. I'm not sure what I'll be doing exactly, whether its crew, working, spectating, etc.

Hi Greg-
Thanx!
no, probably not. It's about an 18hr tow from here, and currently I only have budgeted for S*D, LSPR, 100AW, and possibly one other event.
Although I would rather go to OFPR than STPR, but STPR is closer...
Dammit. Now I wish I woulda entered the National at S*D...

Yeah, and I cant wait to go beat the stink out of it.
My wife is so nice. She says she understands, but I am sure she doesnt completely. This keeps me off dirt bikes though...
S*D is gonna be hard for me, cuz keepin myslef slowed down is more car like that will not be easy for me. My S*D mantra- "Stay out of the ditches whatever speed necessary".
It looks pretty good for what I have invested. Bartering my labor, selling stock parts when upgrading, having connections with race fabricators, using yer brain to come up with new ideas & products for people... all that adds up to saving money on a project like this big time. Add in a couple well timed deals (like the DMS a fellow NASIOC member sold me at a great price), and you see before you a 2004 PGT WRX with 4200 miles on it, DMS, full kevlar, full FIA cage, etc. for well under what you would think.
I also have 3 confirmed (read: PAID) regional sponsors on board & it looks like we'll have 2-3 more soon. That's primarily why we are focusing on running in MI first, then as close tto here as possible second, then anywhere else I can afford third. Gotta give em the best ROI possible to earn future opportunities, y'know?

Yup, Matthew got his Orange 03 WRX done in time for LSPR, showed up with only haven driven it like, 30 street miles, and proceded to finish 6th overall and 1st in PGt by like, 2 min. That was taking it very easy on a sloppy day 1 I am told...
I cant wait. Due to the deals with the regional sponsors though, we most likely wont run against each other til STPR, OFPR, or LSPR, depending on what I can afford. Last I heard he isnt running S*D, and I doubt he'll run 100AW, cuz last I talked to him he was focusing on the PGt title, with possibilites of GN before long.
Should be good fun, and entertaining to the speccies...

That's why I think it is so important to start with a car that is s-l-o-w. If ya can make a dog slow car go fast, you can better adapt to a faster one later. IMHO of course...
Heck Jay, that'll be the first time with this car on gravel. You'll probly beat us. :)

He does realize that the stages are NOT all 20+ mile stages, right? THe supps are showing LEGs, not STAGES at 20+ miles each. Each LEG consists of multiple stages...
The only change I am aware of is that one of the stages from last year(that was already 16+ miles) was extended to 20 or so miles. The rest of them are still short, and there is still central servicing each day at one location.

NO, no cool diffs yet. Maybe next year.
And no, regualr WRX ECU til after S*D.

THanx guys.
Yes, the number backers (aka: visual ID package) is to be shipped today to us, as Matt B ordered both of our last week while I was out of town.
We will be staying #595.
One week to blast off. :D
I should start soliciting money like SGal... looks like we'll be only running Regional for S*D after all, cuz I just cant afford the extra dough. Too bad, cuz I was hoping for the chance for TV time...
But you know what they say in Houston...
Oil Well.

There was a bit of a snafu on the visual package. It was supposed to be finished and at our offices yesterday, but Monday they said it'd be next Tuesday. Don Problemo (aka J.B. Niday) leaned on 'em, and now the goods are supposed to be here this Friday. :(
For those attending Sno*Drift, RA will ship the goods overnight for Monday delivery and eat the shipping cost difference. Those not attending Sno*Drift will get their packages via the shipping method they selected. Sorry for the inconvenience. We were promised the printer could meet the deadline, but then they lost a week somewhere.
Cheers,
-Doug
P.S. - This also means you can still get your order in before S*D if you do it quickly. Via fax, perhaps...
Cheers,
-Doug
