Fastine's Mudflaps
New thread for Fastine's mudflaps. Ordered mine on December 19th at night and they arrived on Saturday the 22nd. Very fast!
The kit was complete with fitment and hardware first rate. The fronts go on so fast that I was just totally surprised at the ease on the install, The rears are just as easy except for the inside bolt. You can get it on but it is so much easier if you remove the rear tires.
These flaps are industrial strength and completely protect the car. Some here have trimed them for a better look but I much perfer the robust look on a black WRX wagon. I bought the car to save my Vette in the winter so looks were secondary. But now I am into the all black look on my wagon.
Thanks to Fastline for providing a wonderful product at a fair price. Highly reccommended.:p :p :)

yeah, the mudflaps are great. they've stayed on good so far. i still got some trouble with the inside clip on the front ones, but i have not had a chance to take the wheels off and force them in good. otherwise, they seem to hold on real good.
oh, they hold up pretty good too when they scrape the ground ;).

As an update, I tested my new Fastline flaps yesterday through snow, salt and mud. Only a trace of white from the salt made it past the front flap, driver's side. Kept the rest of Blackie clean. These flaps kick butt plus the robust look makes the rear tires look real wide. All on tight. These flaps are good to go!:) :p

hahaha...everyone's eye go wide and they look at you like you broke something. It's even funnier because you have to be really hauling ass around a corner to make them scrape so they're already scared witless.

just curious, but how much is the kit going to be? will it be bolts instead of the push clips? i haven't had a chance to look for better clips for the front yet, so i think i'll just get the upgrade kit. keep us posted!

I'm gonna be doing a rally school and rallyX about 4 hours north of my house. I dont really want the mudflaps on for the 8 hours of freeway driving, but I definitely want them on for the dirt stuff up there.
Can I put these on at night in a hotel parking lot?
Can I take them off quickly after the rallyX before I drive home?
Should I do part of the work before I drive up? Drilling?
Will the push clips in the front survive removal, or will I need a set for each time I put the flaps on?

they aren't that hard to put on/remove. if you keep your wheels on, its a touch tight, but still doable. he's getting an upgrade kit that i believe will use bolts instead of push clips in the front so you wouldn't have to worry about the push clips.
speaking of which, whats the word? any updates. i'm ready to paypal you (fastline) when you tell me the cost on the upgrade kit!

Thanks for your reply!
I guess I'll try it with the pushpins in front this time, and if they break on removal, then I'll look into ordering the upgrade kit.
Since they use bolts, I'll try a complete dry run install on the rears to see how it goes.

I would reccomend you leave them on all the time. Fastline's flaps are so large that they keep all the bad stuff off you car. Besides, the robust look goes very well with the Wagon thing!:p :)

if anyone wants them smaller i can make them anysize you would like.

Fastline's upgrade 4 the front flaps is available fpr $9.95. These should provide a stronger attachment for those that need it. I will post how it works and how much stronger they seem to be over the push plugs/pins when the hardware arrives.
As I stated above, I think I will leave them on all the time. They are very cool.

just got the upgrade kit yesterday and installed it today, and boy oh boy am i happy with the way it feels on there. i think its a big difference. holds on real good, a LOT better than the push clips IMHO. anyways, great upgrade mark!
only one thing about the kit, dang it is tight getting the fronts on now. still doable, but a little tighter when you gotta screw it in.

I just got this kit yesterday (including upgrade). I'm puzzled by the upgrade docs.
First, I got the following hardware in the upgrade baggie:
6 blue "well nuts" - look like drywall screw inserts w/ 6 matching screws.
2 green "well nuts" (longer than the blue ones) w/ 2 matching screws.
8 washers.
Which holes do the green ones go in (#1,2,3,4, or 5?) The docs only say to put screws in #1 and #4 (this is obviously a mistake in the docs).
There are only 8 screws supplied. I plan to drill a 5th hole if needed (and its recommending in the stock kit docs).
Finally, did you have to do anything else to get this stuff on properly?
Thanks

Rear flap question (MY02 WRX Sedan)
The inner bold in the rear well doesn't look like a normal bolt. Maybe its covered up with undercoat? It looks like it has a special washer on it too.
Which tool do I use to get it off (socket size?).
Thanks

I know this thread is kind of dead but I just got these flaps and wanted to share some tips on how I installed them.
I didn't take the wheels off at all, just get in the car and turn the wheel to whatever side you need the room on.
I did the install with nothing but a Gerber Multitool (30 bucks at Walmart) and the free Ikea hex wrench that I got with some furniture awhile ago. The front is the hardest bit of the install. Basicly just pop out the middle of the push clips and if you cant grab em with the pliers and pull like hell. The bolt and location of the green bolt is kind of hard to get to. But what I did was finger tighten the bolt and then grab it on the side with the pliers and used them to turn it in. The bolt is large enough that you can get a good grip on it.
The key to the rear lower innner bolt is to get on your back and go under the car. No need to take off the wheel and everything is very easy to get to. A little disorienting but doable.
Very easy install, took me about 1/2 and hour because the directions weren't so great. But if you look and the car and the pieces they give you it all makes sense. Just gotta go find some mud to try em out.

Bump from the dead.
I have these mudflaps, and I'd like to secure the fronts a little better. Does anyone remember what the upgrade kit included? Right now I have some green and blue drywall things in there. The inside screw isn't very secure anymore.
Thanks.
Jacob
