Last grand prix of the season... :( Ooh, but what a season it's been. Probably one of the best seasons in a long time. :)
I hope BAR change the livery of their car again this year and make it blue with the "555" branding. Speaking of BAR, rumor has it that Davidson might get the call!

I got what I asked for at the begining of the season. For one of the championships to go to the final race. It good go either way and I love it. I hope McLaren gets it but it would be amazing to see Renualt take the whole thing.

I've read several stories to the contrary...sadly. :(
Davidson Unlikely to Race in China By Jonathan Noble
Anthony Davidson's hopes of being granted a race-seat with BAR at this weekend's Chinese Grand Prix as replacement for Takuma Sato were looking unlikely to be realised on Tuesday - despite wild speculation in British newspapers saying he was poised to get the chance.
The reports suggested that Davidson was being put on stand-by to replace Sato for the season finale, with BAR chiefs having lost patience with Sato after a number of incidents this year - including his disqualification from the Japanese Grand Prix for causing an avoidable accident with Jarno Trulli.
Autosport-Atlas understands, however, that BAR and Honda are both determined to see-out the season with Sato - especially because Honda are pushing hard to secure the Japanese driver a seat with a new team next year.
Davidson would obviously relish the chance to prove himself in a race situation with BAR - especially as he targets a seat on the grid in 2006.
Speaking to The Times, he said: "I am ready. I have never been more ready. My problem is that people doubt whether I can race. They know I have the speed because they have seen me in testing. But I have to prove that I am a racing driver and not just someone who pounds around lap after lap."
Davidson did have one opportunity with BAR earlier this season when he replaced the unwell Sato, but his race was over after just two laps when his Honda engine blew up.
"I hardly had a chance to make an impact," he added. "I am anxious to get one last chance before this season is over."
Hey Artkevin, are you going to have another showing at the USGP in 06?
| artkevin | 10-11-2005 11:19 AM |
Acutally I just confirmed next year's show last week. It will be at the Hyatt Downtown again if you want to come by. It looks like I might be working with Red Bull too at their party/parties. Should be a good time!

Don't mean to hi jack the thread but I will have a free to the public 125' show in the lobby of the Hyatt downtown. It should have a mix of mostly F1 but there will be a couple of rally and, Moto GP and Le Mans style cars in it too. They will all be oil on canvas, water color, mixed media or pen and ink. Any and all are welcome. Hopefully you'l be able to find some of invites at bars, hotels and restraunts.
If you guys have not booked your hotel yet you really should. None of the hotels in town waited for the FIA to confirm the weekend and are almost completely booked now becuase of it.
If the thing with Red Bull works out I should be doing a series of paintings celebrating their history in F1 (cool). I might also do a live painting at their party. I am going to have a hard time doing it becuase last year all I wanted to do was talk to all of the drivers that were there. My friends said I looked like a kid in a candy store. I talked to Scott Dixon, Tony Kanan, C. Albers, V. Luzzi, C. Klien, Felipe Massa and Rubens. It was crazy.

July 2nd for the USGP. Its good becuase it puts a little more of a gap between the Indy 500 but its bad becuase it goes head to head with the 4th.
Thanks by the way

Well, last Pick6 of the year. This one's for the donuts, and as of Brazil I'm barely holding onto the third step on the podium. I sure wish I'd got my picks in on time last week instead of the previous race's bad picks rolling over. But I'm not sure it would have been much better (assuming all the main players did better than my estimated 32 points) give the weird starting grid.
So, here's China:
K.Raikkonen
J.Montoya
F.Alonso
M.Schumacher
J.Trulli
J.Button
G.Fisichella
D.Coulthard
Enjoy! It's going to be a long winter...

Any suggestions of a good sports bar down this way?

I think Montoya will win this one. Alonso will be passed by pit strategy. Kimi will make a mistake somewhere. Everyone else will just follow.
The end of an era in F1 is today. No more V10's. I hope the V8's make just about as much power and sound similar. I just love the sound of a V10 screaming at 18,000 RPM.
Race starts in 28 minutes. I think I'll stay up for this one.

Following another car at a car length at 55 mph, you are lucky to avoid something in the road coming from under the previous car. At over 100 when following right on the tail of the car in front of you, there's no way you could even see it let alone react in time. It was completely unsighted. Montoya has made plenty of mistakes in the past, this was definitely NOT one of them.

Uh Oh!
Art Gecko 574 + 33 = 607 (Still can't catch Andy, even wihout Japan...)
Grandpa Rex 572 + 52 = 624 (Second unless Andy guesses JV 8 times ;) )
Rupert 446 + 46 = 492 (No Krispy Kremes for you, sir!)
Akkk! Choke! I had 7 of the 8 for qualifying, but 4 goose eggs for the final.
Art Gecko 574 + 33 + 25 = 632 for the season. Probably fell from second overall to 4th, 5th, or possibly even 6th. Ah, it was a fun year, anyway!

What a great and strange race. Good for Flavio and boys to really put a stamp on both championships. Alonso looked magic at every restart and a lot of guys really impressed me(Klien, Massa and Webber). Great driving (save MS and Albers and Nahrain) and a good way to cap a good season.
Here's to 06!

Didn't see the race, saw the results. :( JPM may not necessarily be to blame for this race, but it's hard to put a good fight to two (very reliable) Renault's with 1 McLaren. Yes de la Rosa did well, and so did Wurz, but in order to have a good season, consistency is a must. Juan, stick to the sun and to racing. Stay away from dangerous sports like tennis or backgammon during the season.
Next season should be interesting. I would like to see McLaren do better with the reliability issue. Even though Ron Dennis says its not an issue, I still believe it is. How can you win races when you can't make it to the checkered flag? Oh well. I think Mr. Kimi is going to Ferrari in '07, and that's where the REAL work is going to be. Getting/rallying everyone to work with you like Michael is quite the task. There's 2 folks that are up to it as of now(MHO). Kimi and Alonso. And I don't think Mr. Alonso is going anywhere anytime soon.

They claim Juan's engine blew after he pitted for the tire change. Weird. His race was done when the safety car came out right before he exited the pit for the tire change, but then a blown motor. That sucked. The race was so boring. The coverage was crap. It took them like 20 minutes to explain why the SC was out or how/why the Jordan crashed, etc.
OFF SEASON SUCKS!

Umm...isn't this team orders? And aren't team orders banned? Sooo...shouldn't the FIA disqualify Renault from the China GP?
