"You forgot Mexico."
Seriously though, +1. WRC is awesome, it's the FIA and the indecisive manufactuers that are the problem.

I love rally, wrc, rally america, Dakar and more if speed would cover more than nascar. I recall them showing some timed rallys in newfoundland and england that wasn't on back roads.

WRC is awesome!
i was thinking of driving down to the WRC rally mexico this year, has anyone done this before? It would be a sweet experience. I cant find out how much it costs to watch though? i see the rally pass is 650 pesos (~65us$)...i assume that includes all the stages and stuff?
oh yeah and this may be old news, but i was checking speedtv, and i cant find any listings for WRC this year? is it not on tv/not on speed tv this year? i sure hope this is not true.

"Cough Cough through the smoke and flames!" Mexico huh? well then all the more reason for FIA to bring WRC to the northern part of OUR country come on why not the point is that there are plenty of true fans here who would love to see A Rally live with out going south of the border although it would be a Damn good excuse to drink some Tequila and watch some sick cars riping it up!

*Ice Racer,
You my friend get a cookie and may go to the head of the class with a star next to your name! :)
Yes ladies and gentelmen, I was simply asking for a List of people that may potentialy wish to watch a LIVE WRC EVENT! first hand in this country in the open air! (it's a novel concept I know, but hey the squeeky wheel gets the grease right?) There is a thread for people who have left speedvision feedback telling them to keep and play more WRC Rally so..... so the thought running around in my lill nogin was maybe I should see if the NASIOC General public with a little help from our friends and family could muster enough pull to atleast get the FIA to look in our direction for a few moments and think: "Hmm, perhaps the Northern USA or even Southern Canada could be an interesting location for a WRC event". the only problem that I could see coming to light would be from stupid people who might get ran over during a stage because they think they're gonna high-five the drivers at 80+ miles an hour, and either them or their familys suing the sponsors and shuting it down because natual selection obviously ran it's course. but hey It would be a change of pace and senery to the usuall season. Oh well I'll just wait for it to come to my TV the good ol American way!
Cheers,
Kincaid

Dude, any rally, even a regional Rally America event, that is within 3 hours is LOCAL! In 2 weeks I'll be driving 12 hours to get to Sno*Drift from here, and I'm just psyched that I can drive instead of having to fly out! Granted, I wouldn't do that just to spectate, but if you are into rally and live in the US a 3 hour drive is nothing!

I follow things, but I'd probably tie a rally to a European vacation rather than go to Mexico. Plus I'd rather see an event on pavement. That's probably why I like the Targa Newfoundland so much.

I would rather go to a foreign country to see a WRC, makes it more interesting.
Mexico is much more exciting than a rally in the US IMO, and it costs about the same as going to US rallies. This will be my fourth year going down for it
If, and that is a BIG "if", there was to be a WRC in the States, I would certainly go, just because it's there
Why make a poll if you were after a list of names? Why do you need a list of names, what difference is that going to make?

those involved with Rally New York are trying to get it veiwed for possible WRC status, long shot but they are trying. Visit their page and offer your support. Ivan Orisek is, i believe, the one spearheading the effort. The FIA is aware of rally in the U.S., it's all up to the organizers to come up with the attractive package to present to the WRC to lure them. It's not cheap to hold an event that size, and WRC Inc, does not foot the whole bill. Several NA events have been looked at in the past, Rallye Charlevoix in Canada was "expected" to grow to WRC status a few years ago, obviously did'nt happen. Rally Mex got there with the help of a few key elements, Corona and the Mexican Tourism board (i beleive). It's not for lack of want of the fans that there is no US/CAN WRC, it's who has the $. Hell, China had a round a few years back, how many rabid rally fans live in rural China? They had Gov and Cigarette $ behind them. there were World Rally events in the U.S. in the past, search and find some history on rally here (find the book, "In like a lamb, out like a lion" by Tom Grimshaw), it almost got big once, almost again a few years ago, and the good folks at Rally America and NASA are trying to get it big again.

and even better, hold a long weekend bash or something, and have prorally, or any novice rallying in the same weekend around the same area, and I'd for out some really good $.
:D
It's only a matter of time before I'm competing in them as well..

I was at this year's Wales WRC rally. ....I took the Bus 5 hours from London to Cardiff on the rally's last day by myself (with no ticket or booking). I got dropped off at Swansea 5am in the morning after persuading the driver to take me there. Took a Taxi to somwhere...leg 16 or something. 6am. I thought I saw some of England's old ghosts. I told the marshals that I had no ticket...but they let me in anyways.
Walked up the hill....2 hours ..get this....one would have to walk up the hill 2 HOURS to get to see this rally. It reminded me of the Grouse Grind I did in Vancouver to get to the rally. Saw 1 leg of the rally. Got hit by a giant rock from Petter Solberg's car. Mike Park then got killed and the rest of the Rally canceled. Took the Taxi back to Swansea, then took the bus 2 hours back to Cardiff to watch the sombre closing ceremonies. Then I took the bus 5 hours back to London.
I DESERVE TO BE RECOGNIZED AS A FAN DAMMIT!
