Japan side skirt/spat question

1 Attachment(s)
I was wondering if the side skirts in Japan come with that extra bulge towards the front or if its an add on. Attached is a pic of that bulge.

another pic.
Rebellion 05-30-2002 10:53 PM

that's part of the Greddy kit I'd imagine.. it's definitely not the OEM sideskirt.
kenchan 05-30-2002 11:45 PM

it looks like an add on to me...

I doubt its the gracer kit

here is another pic.
1984 05-31-2002 01:29 AM

i do believe they would be the 'aero mud gaurds' or something like that. they're like the spats in the back of the side skirt except these are in the front. i saw them at the subaru japan website a while ago. you can go look and see if you can find it somewhere on the page. make sure you keep viewing the page in japanese though, i think it takes you to an english-ized version of the site if you switch to english. whiterabbit 05-31-2002 06:20 PM

hmm aero mud guards? I can't seem to find them.

anyone can get these pieces?

It definetly IS an OEM part. Like 1984 said they are aero mud guards.
whiterabbit 05-31-2002 06:32 PM

anyone know where I can get these aero mud guards?

its not the same as the ones on www.get-primitive.com is it?
monkeytronZ 05-31-2002 07:24 PM

good question whiterabbit! ive been wondering that too... i wish a VENDOR would come out and explain it...
Subies 05-31-2002 08:56 PM

hehe yea I would like that along with a greddy front lip and oem rear

I think it would all match up nicely
impaktedwrx 06-01-2002 01:59 AM

bump i would also know if i could buy this.
go go go 06-01-2002 03:42 AM

it's called AERO SPLASH KIT and it is genuine Subaru accessory.
about $300 and comes as F/R set.
I'm not a vendor but I can get them.

touch 06-01-2002 10:37 AM

don't get those

they're not that functional, you're still gonna kick up road crap onto your car. i just put the prodrive flaps on my wagon. they're functional and good looking!
supermarkus 06-01-2002 11:13 AM

Plus the Prodrive flaps are cheaper than the aero mud guards.
whiterabbit 06-01-2002 12:52 PM

$300?! damn!!!! that is crazy!

I don't like the huge prodrive flaps and the reason I want these aero guards is cause I like the way they sit on the sideskirt.
supermarkus 06-01-2002 01:01 PM

funny, i never thought of these as being "huge", more like functional. But if you're into fashion more than function...
These are much smaller than the Fastline flaps I had and protect just as well.
Scooby Don't 06-01-2002 01:31 PM

supermarkus, I don't think I've seen the Prodrive flaps before. Do you have anymore pics of them? Maybe a shot that's a little further away so I can get a better idea of how they look on the car?

Thanks,
Rob.
whiterabbit 06-02-2002 03:26 AM

supermarkus - actually I was thinking about those rally style flaps when I read your post...sorry about the confusion.
touch 06-03-2002 12:04 AM

CTKAG 06-11-2002 09:27 PM

cardin555 - sure - let us know if it is indeed the front aero flap and what the cost would be. I got the rear ones from SOA, already painted WRB - is that how those come? Thanks.

WRX_ONLY 07-31-2002 04:30 PM

whiterabbit,
The aero splash gaurds you sourced were they Subaru OEM?

Areg
protouring72 07-31-2002 04:33 PM

sounds fishy to me

The price is cheaper because they are not painted, is some one making a replica of these?
John
whiterabbit 07-31-2002 05:25 PM

WRX_ONLY 07-31-2002 05:55 PM

REXY WAGON 07-31-2002 06:12 PM

I got mine from europe they are oem subaru, they come in black ready to paint, but i was told they would be soon coming colour coded, they go on easy, and i don't like the sti or prodrive ones the look like truck mud flaps, see ya COLM
rdebow 07-31-2002 06:43 PM

Wrx_Only,

Please let us know what you can get those for. I wouldn't mind getting a set possibly for my wagon.

Painted (preferable) or unpainted. Also what colors can you get them in, I need platinum silver.

Richard.
b00st3d 07-31-2002 07:17 PM

whiterabbit, was there any problems having those pieces painted? if im not mistaken they are polyurethane? i think some places have to add something to the paint for pieces like that(flex) i think?

methadon
whiterabbit 08-01-2002 02:57 AM

Flex additive is added to most paint when going on your car anyways.

I havent gotten around to installing and getting mine painted yet as I'm waiting for a couple more body pieces to come in so I can get everything painted at once.
WRX_ONLY 08-01-2002 05:43 AM

Painted Only

Sorry I can only get these areo splash gaurds painted and the price is 335.00 shiped in the lower 48...
