Japan side skirt/spat question
1 Attachment(s)
I was wondering if the side skirts in Japan come with that extra bulge towards the front or if its an add on. Attached is a pic of that bulge.

that's part of the Greddy kit I'd imagine.. it's definitely not the OEM sideskirt.

it looks like an add on to me...

i do believe they would be the 'aero mud gaurds' or something like that. they're like the spats in the back of the side skirt except these are in the front. i saw them at the subaru japan website a while ago. you can go look and see if you can find it somewhere on the page. make sure you keep viewing the page in japanese though, i think it takes you to an english-ized version of the site if you switch to english. It definetly IS an OEM part. Like 1984 said they are aero mud guards.

don't get those
they're not that functional, you're still gonna kick up road crap onto your car. i just put the prodrive flaps on my wagon. they're functional and good looking!
| supermarkus | 06-01-2002 11:13 AM |
Plus the Prodrive flaps are cheaper than the aero mud guards.
| whiterabbit | 06-01-2002 12:52 PM |
$300?! damn!!!! that is crazy!
I don't like the huge prodrive flaps and the reason I want these aero guards is cause I like the way they sit on the sideskirt.

funny, i never thought of these as being "huge", more like functional. But if you're into fashion more than function...
These are much smaller than the Fastline flaps I had and protect just as well.

supermarkus, I don't think I've seen the Prodrive flaps before. Do you have anymore pics of them? Maybe a shot that's a little further away so I can get a better idea of how they look on the car?
Thanks,
Rob.

Painted (preferable) or unpainted. Also what colors can you get them in, I need platinum silver.

whiterabbit, was there any problems having those pieces painted? if im not mistaken they are polyurethane? i think some places have to add something to the paint for pieces like that(flex) i think?

Flex additive is added to most paint when going on your car anyways.
I havent gotten around to installing and getting mine painted yet as I'm waiting for a couple more body pieces to come in so I can get everything painted at once.
