Arioch you will lead the race by 20 seconds at one point, but then YOUR ass-itch suppressor fails completely. While trying to scratch, you lose it and drop back, but finish a respectable 5th.

| Fred Zaplitny | 10-09-2001 09:24 AM |
donjuan,
You are right. It's not about who wins, it's about the fact that 30 seconds into the battle, someone's bikini top is bound to come off!
As for it being Alesi's last race, who knows. It seems like team owners and managers are always trying to find some young gun who is bound to be the next Senna or Schumacher so Alesi might get bumped next year at the start of the season. If that happens look for him to go to CART or possibly get a ride in F-1 late in the season when one of the youngsters goes crying home to mommy after Montoya puts a beating on him wheel to wheel!
Listen to me now and hear me later: Montoya will score big next year!! I just got a feeling. Of course BMW has to make a slightly more reliable engine to get him to the end of races. That and he has learn where the walls are at Monte Carlo!

PBJWF---baaaahahahaha!!! i wanna be vice-chairman in charge of signing new talent.
I don't want to see Alesi go. But CART wouldn't be so bad, he could probably do really well there.
Montoya could do really well, but I don't think the new chassis or the new spec BMW engine has impressed so far. Granted it's just early tests, and there will be vast changes by next season.
I think JPM's contract is up after next year(?), so I see one of two things happening: 1. He'll do very well and contend for the chamionship along with the brothers Schumacher, and maybe DC and Kimi, or 2. Williams won't do as well as everyone thinks, JPM will get pissed and move to another team or go back to CART.

Maybe Alesi could drive for Minardi!
Speaking of that, I saw a few Minardi fans at the USGP. There were some sitting behind me with a flag  It takes all kinds I guess. They were pretty good humored about their team, jokingly saying "Minardi's going to be huge someday" Yeah, that's going to happen!
Maybe they'll just stick with the trained monkeys for next season.

I guess Alesi might just retire after this season. EJ didn't give him much of a work out, just replaced him with Sato, mind you, I bet Honda had a lot to do with that.

Yeah, I saw that, sucks. Sounds like got the short end of the stick from EJ.
I read that EJ is planning on rebuilding the team, so that they can go back to their glory days of 1999, too bad Frentzen was the one that gave him the 2 wins and took 3rd in the Championship. Oh well, he also used Williams as an example of a team that went downhill, but put the peices back together. I dont think Jordan are on the same level as Williams by any means, but we'll see.

DC will take second.
Eddie can start comparing his team to Williams once he's won some championships!! Right now I put his team on the same level as the old Stewart/current Jaguar team. He's been around a little longer, but they've won a race or two as well. I don't see Jordan being a front runner anytime soon. Next year it's all about the Williams team. Sorry Eddie! Hey at least he's got some of the hottest pitbabes!

I was lucky enough to be in the stands in Montreal when Alesi won his only race. the fans there have always been wild for him, and he always had a treat for the huge crowd. That day, his car "stopped" at the hairpin, and he got out and waved to the adoring crowd. A few years later, he stopped, removed his helmet, and threw it into the crowd (wow, what a souvenier). this year, after an incredible drive into the points in his Prost Tractor, he brought his car into the hairpin on the cooldown lap and proceeded to drift it into a lurid slide, and then spun it about 5 times before proceeding.
We will miss you, Jean Alesi.
