TonyWRX: sherifx was refering to the WRX STI SPEC C steering wheel and that WRXMOTORWORKS should get the SAME steering wheel that Vivid already carries. Here is a picture from Vivids site! www.vividracing.com

Does either one of those wheels have a bag?
I really like it and the STi seats, but I can't bring myself to sacrifice safety.

Nice wheel but I'd be hesitant if the the alu parts were just painted plastic(which they probably are).

the one vivid has doesn't have an airbag...i'm not sure about the new wheels

has anyone actually fitted one of these... I tried to buy one from him but couldn't come to an agreement about fitmet. It seems there is an extra trim part behind the wheel kind of like the ones that come with Momo wheels to cover up the steering shaft because the wheel seems like it's not physically as deep as the airbag wheel.
anyone know?

I remember reading in one of the press releases that the new seats have SRS. I believe it because the seats look a lot thicker than pre03. I hope that this doesn't cut much into rear legroom.
| NeoGeo | 10-28-2002 10:10 PM |
Look at those blue carpets....mmm...remind me of the red carpets on the ITR. As for the steering wheel, I like the spec C wheel better than the new one. I remember seeing a picture of it on someone's car on this board, can't remember where though :(

I'm in for the steering wheel and cluster. Will the cluster be plug and play? When can I get them? Thanks Gary
| TheShadowWRX | 11-10-2002 04:35 PM |
How much will be a set of front and rear seats cost?
Do the rear seats fold down?
Do they have a trunk pass through?
Thanks,
Mike

I don't think the cluster in that pic is the same as the production. Aren't they using a all black cluster with numbers that light up even during the daytime?
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=268942
Or is this STi only?

I think it depends on market. Those pictures that adamsrs posted are from a Hungarian site I believe. It seems the LHD (Euro and probably US) STi doesn't have the black-out red gauges like the JDM model does. Those blue faces gauges are the same that were in the Prodrive-Style model, they've been available for the last year if you wanted to spend the money to get them. I don't know if Gary is talking about the blue gauges or the red-lit blackout gauges. I like the blue ones.

Hey!
WHAT ABOUT THE CARPET??????
How do I go about doing the blue carpet to my WRX??? Can I use any carpeting or does it need to be formed?
I have no clue, something I've never done.

Is that gray part on the new steering wheel plastic or something? I had the chance to see one in person, and it looked and felt like plastic ...
Now, if you can get the B4 S401 steering wheel with the pink STi logo ... :)

I personally saw the new car in Japan last weekend and I have to say it's better looking in person than the pictures. Still don't like the rear wing that high on the New Age car but anyway.
The useful information I have to add to the thread is that I was shocked at how small in diameter they made the steering wheel. It's a lot smaller than the current 4 spoke model.

I'm pretty sure the new STi wheel has an airbag though... which will have to be changed if you're fitting the wheel. Does the price of the wheel include the airbag?
Oh and how much to ship to the UK :D

bemani,
I inquired about the B4 S401 steering wheel and it would cost about $1200-1400 dollars from AVsports (I bought my STi steering wheel from them). Yeah I know it sounds expensive and it's basically the same as the current STi wheel but with a black bezel and black badge. If you want exclusivity, you gotta pay :)

Okay, how is ths looking? With the STi here in a few months will this still be available to us in one form or another?
I still would like a smaller diameter wheel with an airbag and the STi fits the bit quite well.

Just to let everyone know, the US DOES get the black out red lighting gauges, the blue faced ones are prodrive version i believe from the UK. Also the seats do have airbags, so you wouldn't be sacrificing any safety, no pass through or fold down rear seats though. All this is assuming WRXmotorworks is selling US STI parts, if they are selling the ones in the picture, (European), then all this is moot. If you need info the STI forum has tons

Hey,
On that gauge cluster, does anyone know if our 02/03 WRX odometers can be swapped into the new USDM cluster? Either STi or WRX one, I like both of them :)

I'm very interested in getting the guage cluster, primarily to get my tach relocated to the center, having it to the side bugs the crap out of me. If it has red illumination, all the better since I already switched all the other lighting in my car over to red.
| Arnie | 01-24-2003 02:36 PM |
What's interesting is the new WRX also has a center mounted Tach. Just without the red back light and all the DCCD monitors, etc. Time to look into surbaruparts.com to see how much those would cost. We need part numbers!
