I have the same badge on my 02 and some guy was talking trash about it, (because it was pink), to make a long story short I made him eat his words whan I spanked his gt.
I think it looks really nice on the new STi because it goes well with all the rest of the pink STi badges on the car.

I put the pink "I" on last week on my STi. I think it looks excellent IMHO. It works well with the rest of the pink and WRB.

i've noticed that most people that complain or are horrified by all the pink STi stuff don't either know much or like subaru's in general...maybe it's just the people i talk to

STis look awesome with anything on the front, but I think the pink goes very well with the rest of the STi badging. I do think you need to clear your headlights though... Orange=Ugly!
Pink is also great for a female driver... all these people in a parking lot not knowing what a STi is saying...
"Look at the girly car"
And then for you to come out hop in, and smoke the tires as you fly away....
Yep that's a girly car alright....
A girly car that kicks some @$$ and takes some names...
AWESOME!

i've had 2 pink I badges. I lost my first one before I managed to get it on the car. I got a 2nd one, and my parents wouldn't let me put it on, so I sold it. (They aren't letting me modify the car at all). The pink looks soooo good w/ silverthorne met. and some sti fog lamp covers.

Thanks everyone!
I think that mustang guy wants to come over and talk to me and check out my car. I always see him start walking over when I'm outside with my car. But usually he chickens out when he gets to the end of the driveway and turns around when I look over at him.
Today some random guy walking his dog stopped and checked out my car and was talking to me. Said his nephew had a subaru too, and that he put a pink-i on the front too. He was like "What is that all about???" Pretty funny.
And... I don't have any pictures of me with my car yet. :( But maybe I'll post them when I do ;)

I will be doing the same pink i. When I first bought the STi I would have preferred red to pink. Well, still might prefer red.
My wife has granted permission for a pink i, and for a sun visor/strip with Subaru Tecnica International in pink. Now it's just a matter of finding a nice one. Unless you get rid of all of the pink, then pink accents are the way to go.
"My car has pink i !!! Better keep away!!"

Pink - I

I dig the pink - i badge.
I just bought one and as soon as I get my car back (some dumb broad rear ended me June 3rd) it will be put right on.
Question though... It's the only pink on my 02 WRB WRX. Even my foglight covers don't have any pink on them.
Does anyone think it'll look dumb being the ONLY pink on the car?
(I'll still put it on anyway, but I'll take the feedback!)

I don't understand why STi goes with pink in the first place, but I actually think that looks really good! It totally fits since the rest of the badging is pink.
| Scubiedoo | 07-21-2003 06:46 PM |
I don't know the history behind the selection of Pink or anything, but maybe it's because it their aftermarket/racing division. Usually a racing division uses some bright ass color like neon green or something.
Again, I dig the pink...
.... but then again, I'm a girl, too. :p

It is because of STi's race history, but the question remains: of all the "bright ass colors" you could pick for a serious race team, why pink? Not a burn, just a question.
Like I said, I like the pink I badge on that car. Just wondering about the decision behind the whole color.

The color is offically called cherry blossom red. It is classified as a red color eventhough it looks pink. The color of the STi intake manifold and the shocks are also cherry blossom red, eventhough those look red.
The cherry blossom in bloom represents rebirth and life, and it is deeply rooted in japanese culture.
Its definately a culture difference, guys that wear pink shirts here get called derogatory names, while in japan and various parts of asia, it is perfectly acceptable (i myself have a few pink collared shirts)

Sakura is the national flower, and is as closely tied into Japan's culture as the red, white and blue is to America. It represents the cyclical part of nature- death, rebirth.
Since sakura (cherry blossom) can vary in color between red to pale pink, Subaru feels that the color variations in products are also natural.
Sakura color is a representation of vigor, I beleive :)
If anyone has ill comments on my pink I badge, the pink on the solid fogs, and the pink STi on the STi grille...................I tell them that it takes a real man to do pink right

I think it looks awesome. There isn't much you can do to an sti that would make it look bad. It has such an intimidating look that the a little extra pink won't make much difference. Not that it currently does, but if you want to make look more like a girls car, more power to you. I think its cool that a girl owns such a car in the first place in this pretty much male dominated ownership category and if you want to give it that personal touch, I'm all for it.
