WAGON bolt on rear fenders

Or stick on or molded in. What do you guys think? They are made for the wagon, so you dont need to replace the rear doors. They retail for about $1400 then they have to be shipped from japan. Bottom pic is my friends car with it molded on to his car

that's a little bit too much but I think i've seen a Japanese WRC replica wagon like that with stickers on and it looked pretty good
| IronMonkeyL255 | 03-22-2006 12:02 AM |
The fuel door looks odd because of the cutout.....
| willz23 | 03-22-2006 12:12 AM |
That would look pretty cool if you had them molded in. I just don't like the gas door.
| Pdizzle | 03-22-2006 02:35 AM |
you would almost be better off cutting them out of a wrecked sedan...maybe it's the fuel door, they just look off, seems just a little odd....hmmmm
| 02redwagone | 03-22-2006 02:43 AM |
It brings to mind images of dually pickup bed flares. It's just a wee bit too much.
| johnnywu | 03-22-2006 06:41 AM |
im indifferent about it. i would think about it if i had 14,000 burning a hole in my pocket. as for the tank door, i would just leave it without the add on piece. it looks weird enough i would leave it out .02 1/4

launsport
| Tenacious Bee | 03-22-2006 07:33 AM |
I'd do them but without the fuel door thingy. Beats buying two doors and two fenders. Plus the install would be both cheaper and easier to reverse.
| hikeeba | 03-22-2006 09:22 AM |
I don't like it. Yea, it's a cool idea, but that execution just looks cheesey
Ok suppose you do install this kit... Will you then need to run wheelspacers and longer studs to get your wheel more towards the outside so it looks half-way decent? Or do you run a wider wheel with a much lesser offset? Does teh kit come with extra hub assemblies?

Well the sedan has a huuuuuuuge wheel. The wagon looks stock and doesnt look to bad. I would have to see it from another angle. I think I would spacers first. The maybe a wider wheel if the spacers didnt work

Id love to run 9" rims on my wagon like that sedan.. so hot dished te37's ya'll would change your song if that wagon had been wearing some decent shoes.

i dont think its rice at all, nothing about it says rice, painting your interior black to match the "S" series is more rice to me. i wish the wagons had flares in the first place, i am planning on getting the seden front end but these are cheaper and nicer than getting the rears custom molded
| Balishag | 03-22-2006 12:59 PM |

SO your saying the wagon, stock, with no fender flares can out perform a stock WRX cuz the sedan has more air resistance :D Actually the fenders weigh like 2 pounds each ok 3 :) This is one of my favs. He used the doors and everything. He said it cost him about $8,000 to do

Looks pretty good. If they could come up with a gas door that hinged up instead of forward they would be great. I will have to look at the way the present gas door attaches but it shouldn't be too hard to create a new hinge. What does the drivers side of the wagon look like?

Sorry that was the only pic I could find. If they could add the gas door thats comes for the sedan. Maybe that could work. YOu could see it in my first post.

NO that was for the blue wagon that I posted. The guy had to buy the doors and get fenders from a sedan and had them welded on and stuff. The White one that I posted in the first pic is the alternative. its like $1,400 for the fenders. Wich is alot cheaper then doing it the $8,000 way :D

yeah he has since parted and sold the car. I think like for $12,000 or something really cheap. He was featured in a few magazines. I think Danny was his name. Lucky for me, I was able to do my front end sedan swap due to a friend getting into an accident. He had a blue wrx. So I took his fenders for $50

no i disagree, that is very very cool. if you parked any widebody car in a scooby show, people would flock to it. and besides, the actual reason for a widebody kit is wide wide wide ass wheels, big brakes and big big tires. as far as the fueling door, leave it flat to enhance the wideness. or kit it out which would be a small detail. that would be equally cool on a wagon or saloon. very cool. some of the widebody kits on other brand cars are just bolted on with contrasting paint. that look is very cool as well.
| THAWA | 03-22-2006 08:11 PM |
For 1400 bucks it could look better than that. They should have had the fender part go where there are seams or angles in the car, not just at some random point.
| crisco555 | 03-23-2006 01:55 AM |
i like it and always thought subaru should do it like that to begin with...factory specs of course like the sedan. heck, they make sedans without the flanges, why not make wagons with the flanges???? wider wheels would be one advantage

its better than changing just the front fenders (to sedans) and leaving the rears alone.

Does anyone else know of any other flares?
To all the haters: You flare fenders to fit wider tires, tires wide enought to overcome the "weight" and "aerodynamics" differences... Wagons have a hard time running 225s and the absolute max with a drop is about 235. And thats if you space it right and put in lots of camber to tuck.
I wouldn't even mind something subtle that would let me run 255s...

Yeah, I want one, but the kit has to follow the friggin body lines at-least. From what I see I'd be spending way too much time making the fenders look "right".
