What CF parts do you want?

I'd like to take a poll as to what carbon fiber products you would like for your scoobs, the obvious ones are scoops and hoods, but what other parts would you like to see?
This is going to be a small business that hasn't even started yet, we are going to start out by making small parts that are wanted by you, like the radiator shroud, interior dressup: like the dash kits/console, and some minor exterior dressup.
Hopefully after this picks up we will be able to make more serious parts such as body kits/panels, but for now just think small beautiful carbon weaves that will dress-up the normally plastic parts.
So don't bother posting about replica body kits, just think of small parts interior/exterior, that you would like to see in carbon fiber that no other company has available right now.

this is all good stuff, I'm not exactly sure what parts we are going to focus on, but we will most definately be making rare parts that other companies don't, such as parts for the gc's and ob's. Right now my partner wants to stay away from replica parts.
I think i have enough ideas of what parts to start making molds for, nothing will be available for a few months so till then speed safely.

Make a CF front bumper assembly to match the SWRT car's front end. From the front edge of the hood to the ground and all the way around to each fender.

real cf dash kit, not the plastic oem one or an overlay (the oem silver pieces ie hvac stereo section, vent rings, door pieces, rear door pieces, maybe the shifter section as well etc.)
CF autometer style bezel around the tach area
cf hood struts like the prova ones but not $300
cf fuse box cover, cf mesh foglight covers
cf wrx oem gauge housing (the one where the clock goes and make it hold 60mm gauges like the defi but without the wavy top part)
an angled cf gauge housing for the clock section too
cf replica prodrive front lip
cf replica Subaru OEM body kit center rear diffuser piece
hehe real cf uk300 lights
haha maybe a cf riewview cover
alternator covers, radiator shrouds, boost controller cover, bumper strip, hoods, trunks, skirts, etc have already been done.
that's all i can think of for right now. do the dash kit and do original stuff.

yes, ORIGINAL, is what we want to be. I like the ideas you gave me pleue. Thats the kind of stuff i'm looking for, minus the body kit stuff (unless someone wants to donate their kit for a mold).
| speed_freak27 | 12-11-2003 02:16 AM |
I want all the dash trim parts as well as the center consol as well the whole thing not just the top. You can find almost everything else such as boost controller cover, fuse box, alternator etc etc.
| Buckeye Kid | 12-11-2003 02:23 AM |
I too would like to see a real CF dash kit replacement for all of the fake metal-looking pieces (center console, rings around vents etc.). I do not want an overlay - I want replacement parts.
While I am wishing I would also like a CF single din cover. I replaced my stock HU with a single din HU and would like to cover the 'universal' pocket I have now with a CF cover. This would go well with a CF dash kit replacement. I don't care if it opens or not as long as it sticks firmly in place. I don't want any cheap pieces that are loose or rattle.

Just reiterate what's been said:
antenna cover
fuse box cover
door sill cover
forward arch on the rear wheel fender
That's for a wrx. I can't seem to find these with any other vendors.
I think it's a great idea to make things no one else has made. Have a monopoly!
Just don't charge too much.

Yes you're talking about the right part. That part doesn't get painted b/c it's hard to paint (at least that's what I heard). Also I think it was black to serve as a "mini mud guard" of some sort. It'll look hot in CF.
If you make the antenna plate cover, I'll be the first in line. God knows how many vendors/body shops/companies I've contacted trying to get this made.

YEAH!! I second that! Any type of carbon fiber rear upper wing for an Impreza wagon would be awesome. You would have a definate buyer in me :)
-Non-2.5RS front lip spoiler... Something that actually splits air and has some performance engineering to it... But if that isn't possible, one for just looks is fine too
-Sde air vents (not the huge central one, but the two smaller ones) for those with a carbon hood and stock vents...
-Hood Vent Scoop (MRT-thingy for more air flow to cars with a cone-style air filter)
-Aero splash guards
-Rear Spats
-Stock-looking side skirts
-Front fenders (stock)
-Reverse scoop (for those fmic people... i hate them ;) )
-Dash replacement/kit thing - With the same shape as stock, but CF for weight purposes... Maybe some with a custom gauge pod or with room for just a 1-DIN CD player
-Central 3x52mm Dash Pod with cover to "hide" gauges when out of car
-Center console
-Glovebox Cover
-22B Front Bumper w/ Fog Covers... If I'm going to pay that much ($500+) for a front bumper, it might as well be carbon fiber :)
All of these are for weight loss, of course ;)
But really... I know I'm not the only person on here who would like carbon fiber as a weight reducing thing instead of style... If you could try n make some that is a cheaper quality (not as good looking, but same structural integrity) so that it costs less.
Hope this helps
-Ben

There is a slight difference on the '04 models. This is a longshot, but with people getting carbon fiber hoods and trunks, I would like to see someone make a carbon fiber roof skin/overlay. I think that would complete the whole carbon fiber theme, because it looks a bit awkward if say, you have a carbon fiber hood and trunk on a white car, and the roof stays white. That's basically the only thing that's stopping me from getting a carbon fiber hood and trunk. Hope I got my point through.

CF 04 eyelids (on the TOP, not underneath) would be sweet, as the guy above said.
I really want a CF Trunk, but you said no panels just yet.
A nice alternative to the factory carbon e-brake handle would be great, for less then SoA's exhorbitant price.
A CF-surrounded gauge cluster that fits in the glovebox.

Carbon parts I want:
-CB lip. We have that for the Sti Version 1. It is a very nice piece, so don't even attempt to make another one.
-CB side skirt. I saw one set on eBay, but that set don't look good.
-CB rear under lip. I also saw one on eBay. No close pic, so I can't say much.
-CB mirror set. A few out there already.

well what happened was I found out what people wanted...which was all this thread was intended for
about a week ago I recieved all of the resins and CF...and the CF is beautiful.
So this hasn't dissapeared, it just took some time to find good suppliers.
Now it is still going to take some time to make the parts, but be patient and i'll let you know what parts will be available.
