What do you use to clean your engine? part 2

I like simple green but it leaves residue. I resort to a microfiber cloth and 409.

I work in a Detail shop and we use a chemical named White Wall. I just spray it all over the engine, take a brush, scrub it down, and then rinse. Also, there is Quik Solv, which will give the engine a nice shine.

Simple Green is a really good bet, I'm in the Army and I will tell you the Army loves simple green. We use it for everything and it leave no greasey residue. One thing I have learned from working in body shops is dont use any Armor All products, they use a chemical that will mess with your paint even more so when repainting. Good Luck.

I use Black Magic 2-in-1 engine shine. It gets rid of the grime, but also creates a very nice shine in the engine bay. I lightly mist the engine bay with the black magic and wipe off the grime- lightly mist with water again and dry. Then lightly spray the Black Magic over the engine bay to create the shine. Then let the engine run for 10-15 minutes to let the shine "bake in". It lasts a long time and I only do it about 2x a year (in spring and fall)

Wow, that's crazy! The honda looks like it just rolled off the assembly line. I'll have to try that with my RS sometime. It's not nearly as dirty as his was originally, but it seemed to of done the trick.
