WRC Rally Japan <---talk about it here part 2

WRCar 09-06-2004 09:47 PM

Good on ya Subaru! This is probably the most important rally of the year for them and they did exceptional!

Just so people know, the Mazda is coming with a 2.4 liter engine (like the SRT-4), WRC rules stipulate 2.0 L engines, so it is hard to see how this car would make it into the WRC.

Mikko looks like his name should be Igor.

this is a long shot, but there isn't a copy of this rally floating around on the internet, is there? i just got up to school and there's no speedvision anymore...
Dr. WOT 09-07-2004 12:35 PM

Way to go Petter!! That was a good win after the three DNFs in a row, but unfortunately it has very little effect on Loeb's lead in the standings.

Warmbold's a privateer driver ain't he? Good finish for a Privvy!
Gravel Girl 09-07-2004 02:49 PM

Possible, but highly unlikely. It's been 2.0 L engines exclusively for a while now.

Dude, he's the only other A8 class car besides the factory teams, and he was only able to barely finish 0.7 second ahead of Arai, who was in a Group N car. I think that's a pretty ****ty result.

And he only got that point because Duval DNF'ed.

Great race, Solberg won on home soil for Subaru... must be a great honour...

I can never get enough of the driver's comments after the stages...

"So Marcus...that last stage went pretty bad!"
"...(makes a face)...I Had one gear!!"
"Which one?"
"THREE!"

All the time actually, but WRC drivers drive like such asses on the road it rarely happens. They routinely drive head on to oncoming traffic on 2 lane roads with the expectation that they move, or you let them over. I have been cut off by Carlos Sainz, Daniel Carlsson and Markko Martin and Mikko Hirvonen amongst MANY other Group N and local entries in Evo's of all versions.

Seeing a WRC car on the road is beauty

Yeah, the Panizzi video was cool.

Congrats to SWRT on pulling this off. Great job guys.

GO PIRELLI!!!
