A harness bar that is 'wife' friendly. part 2

For what it is worth it is far better than anything I could have done. I would probably just end up with a broom stick and some duct tape.
^^^ read this carefully and understand it. if you still don't get it do yourself a favor get your self a V-tech.
You want him to get a phone?
Why are you here hondaboy?
Do you like hanging out with the cool kids, or do you have FWD penis envy?
How did the two of you get to the point of being specialists without noticing that NASIOC is full of people with all kinds of cars? Frankly, I'm embarrassed that two little gits like yourselves have lasted this long... especially you, hypa.. you're a 4 digit member. If the only way you can respond to him is by bashing the make of his car, you've got bigger problems to sort out. I mean, calling him out with 'penis envy' is comical.

2phless: great concept.. keep us up to date so that we can see this progress with what you've learned.

If you are worried about money, there is a possibility it would be cheaper to have a race fabrication shop build you one. (Can't hurt to get an estimate, because at least then you would know it was done right)

Buying a Schroth autox harness would also make a lot more sense than your current project and would not be very expensive. My Autocontrol is actually daily driveable (built-in retractor dealie) but I still don't use it other than for autocross.

If you can't afford either of those options I have no idea how you managed to buy the car and strongly suggest you stop autocrossing because it's only going to make you want to spend more money on the car. If you are going to cheap out on something, buy a cheap turboback, instead of fabricating your own safety equipment.

Cool project 2phless.
At least you have the desire to create, rather than drop mommies Visa on poorly fitting off the shelf rollbars like the Hondaclown above.
How old are you?
ok, my fault for using "likely".

could it happen? YES.

Does it matter if it happens OFTEN or RARELY? no... cause once it happens, DEAD.

I've been to my fair share of autocrosses. I've seen three cars roll over in a span of 5-6 years of autocrossing.

Seen two cars roll over at open track events and countless videos/pictures of them happening.

You know, you should weld a big metal spike on the steering wheel facing you. I mean, accidents where air-bag deployment occurs at autocrosses are unlikely... it wouldn't be much of a concern, now would it?
Didn't even notice this little jab at me......

I personally don't approve of this bar either. I think it would be very dangerous in any kind of accident, and he would be better off getting one made up by a reputable shop or not having one at all.

I'm not saying it never happens, just that it is not likely. Without this bar, unless you're in a Miata or S2K (open-top), then a rollover at an auto-x would not likely be fatal. It could still happen, but then again, I could win a million dollars tomorrow.

Now at a track event..... THAT is a different story altogether.
