... and, for an alternate installation approach ... we ended up [B]not[/B] using the stock A pillar in my WRX ... there is a "Z" like metal bracket behind the stock A pillar, we straightened it into an "L" shape, and drilled a couple of holes in the Autometer pillar cover (as well as the mounting surface of the "L" shape), then used two screws to secure the Autometer piece to the bracket, after which the black rubber gasket that runs the up down length pretty much covers that right up ... and for the Autometer piece itself we paint matched it to be the same as the stock A pillar ... now I have three GReddy black backlit electric 52mm gauges in there (water temp, fuel pressure, and oil pressure) and it's just beautiful :D
