From what I hear, just about every test was pretty poor. I was hoping the LS7/RX7 would take top honors but it looks like SCC was biased in their testing. There were a lot of grey areas in what was allowed and what wasn't. It wasn't like common motorsports rules, where unless we say you can, you can't. You're only allowed one set of tires, but you can use two ECUs? Or two exhaust systems? Or two drivers? That was a piss poor competition and buying that mag is a waste of money.

 You're just pissed your fancy rx7 LS swap car lost. Admit it. You'd pick that NSX every time. That thing was absolutely stunning in almost every way.
BTW - they explain the rules BEFORE the competition so everyone has time to prepare accordingly. +1 for crawford to take advantage in the fuel mileage test with the new fuel mapping. That was huge for them.
I did hear however that the event/competition was very poorly run. -1 for SCC.
I was pulling for the RSI beetle.
The bias was most evident in the "gross display of horspower" competition. It wasn't even close. All that torque and horspower; the Rx7 was by FAR the best and most impressive. The judges again said "well it's nice, but it's a domestic". Oh well.
Seriously.

Why did the Elise to so poorly ... from someone who switched from Suby to Lotus. :(
Why did the Elise to so poorly ... from someone who switched from Suby to Lotus. :(
Had something to do with bolting on a supercharger the day before the contest started. Not suprising, really, for a context which favors a car which can do it all (and comfortably) and the Lotus is hard pressed to do that, especially when not fully prepped.
