About to install Evo Recaros in my '06 STI part 2

I have some mid 80's Mustang SVO Recaros I want to put in an 07' Impreza wagon, because they have front thigh extenders, and side thigh adjusters, and inflatable lumbar. Would be nice to keep the height adjusters of the Sube seats, but they look like they are built into the seat cushion frame. The height lever looks like it will hit the Recaro side thigh adjusting knob

I question if any adapters will fit these old seats, so probably have to work that out myself. I'm not keen on air bags, except for the side ones that are inside the seat backs, and they might be a challenge to swap, though Sube says they aren't replaceable, I guess if they ignite. I have a 5 point harness to install, but thinking the bags might be good to keep on the passenger side, since many won't wear a 3 point belt, and might have to be knocked out to get them to wear a harness.)) Reading the shop manual, it sounds like doing just about anything to the seats, the air bag sensors have to be reset by the dealer, or parts replaced if disturbed. I may have to just replace the drivers seat to keep the passenger air bags functioning. Maybe if and when I understand the system better, I'll attempt that. I want to be sure what I do will give me what I want, and not be a problem.

Any ideas will be appreciated.

[QUOTE=aboothman;21095952]Here are some pics of my Wedge bracket, and why you have to cut the tab for the height you want.

holy old bump... i do not think they fit, you would need to modify them. they dont bolt up the same either from our seats.

That reminds me of what I did when I was autocrossing my hondas... but I cut off the adjustment bracket and the threaded tube and welded the seat sliders directly to the adapter bracket... much nicer then having to bend the tabs if you want to go lower.

ugg did you really think in a evo rear seat would fit in a wrx. Come on now, use your brain.
