I think McLaren will be strong, they are kinda pissed at the moment, and I doubt there will be anymore embarrasing stalls on the grid. I think if Bernoldi gets in front of Coulthard again that Dennis might have a heart attack.

[img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/lol.gif[/img] Very possible.

You're right about McLaren. I think also now that the uncertainty about Rubens at Ferrari is gone, he's driving strong. The podium as I see is is some combination of Ralf, one Ferrari, and one McLaren. But I've only called one right so far this season [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif[/img]
J Colman 06-04-2001 06:48 AM

That reminds me, I called Monaco right. Wooooooohhhhoooooo. I guess predicting Schuey to win has pretty good odds though, oh well.

Justin
donjuan 06-04-2001 06:50 AM

I called Montoya's crashout [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif[/img] Sure I had the lap, corner, and part of the car wrong, but he DID crash out [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif[/img]
J Colman 06-04-2001 06:51 AM

Rubens wins the "Grap on my tired award"
I seriously thought that was one of the funniest things I ever saw when that topic first popped up. It wasn't the fact that the language barrier was funny, it was just the sound of that sentence, it was truly a classic [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/lol.gif[/img] I still laugh when I think about it.

Justin
donjuan 06-04-2001 06:55 AM

When blaster posted this:

I would make him grap on your tired.

That seems to be the best solution.
I about fell out of my chair. People were staring at me big time, I could not stop laughing.
J Colman 06-04-2001 07:53 AM

Yeah, me too.
Blaster is a really cool guy, I meet up with him and a bunch of locals every Friday night at this Bar/Coffe House for dinner and drinks, we were laughing hard on Friday night, he's hilarious.
Anyway back to F1, hoping Kimi can score more points.

Yes yes, back to F1. I don't know what it is about our F1 threads, but they go awry very easily [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif[/img]

I wanna see Hakkinen do well. Even if it's not a win, just even in the points. He's way to good to be having the season he is. Gotta be aggravating...
William WRX 06-04-2001 08:07 AM

Canada is not a big HP track. for that reason Williams-BMW wont win. I would like to see Mika win.

William
J Colman 06-04-2001 08:28 AM

I kinda hope Mika wins too, he is a cool guy. Make it 3 for Mika then.

Justin
WeRX 06-04-2001 09:17 AM

Make that four for Mika. I just have to wonder if the birth of his son during the off season has effected his concentration and/or dedication this season.
J Colman 06-04-2001 10:21 AM

WeRX,
Good point, I had thought that also. Maybe his commitments lie elsewhere now. I think it would be hard to get into an F1 car every other week, knowing that you could die, when you've just had a baby.

We will see what he made off, maybe not this year, but I am sure he will be back. One of the greats, definately.

Justin
Arioch 06-04-2001 02:18 PM

here are mine.....

1) coultard did you see that one coming? [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/tongue.gif[/img]
2) barichello
3) mika - he'll stall on the grid (it's his turn right?) and storm through the field to end up 3rd.
4) jos - he'll put something almost as rediculous looking on his car as he tried to in monaco, but the fia will let him keep it, cause they aren't sure what it is.... it turns out to be a sweedish fish-poewred rocket that he lights up down the straights!!!..... or maybe he'll just have a good day! [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/tongue.gif[/img]
5) kimi - he's forced to drink 17 cans of red bull 30 minutes before the race and the caffeine / taurine / other going through his system turns him into a finnish cornholio and he spazes his way to 5th place before getting out of his car and asking the crowd if the want to see his bung-hole...... actually i think that he's just going to have a strong race.
6) ralfie

ms will crash out somewhere along the line tangled with jpm's chilli-dog eating [email protected]
that's about it for now.... i might add more later.

-dave
scotto 06-05-2001 01:56 AM

Dave #5 that was my all time favorite B&B episode.. perhaps the hardest and longest I have ever laughed!

Nice F1 adaptation. lol

I think Ferrari will shine here, but McLaren - both drivers will push hard assuming they are able to run.

May be a good track for Ralf and Juan as well.

donjuan 06-05-2001 07:02 AM

Hey on a side note, can any of you F1 fans recommend a good F1 game?? I have two for my PC, both EA sports games I think. Problem is I can just annihilate the competition, even with the slow cars. The other drivers just suck on the game, and there's no difficulty level to turn them up.
William WRX 06-05-2001 08:08 AM

I belive that the only advantege Williams has over other manufactures is the engine. That is why at Imola they kicked behind.

William

PS Williams will win Monza
donjuan 06-05-2001 08:20 AM

Williams' problem so far this season is reliability. They have only finished 3 times out of 14 tries, Ralf twice, JPM once. But notably, all 3 of those finishes were in the points, a 1st, 2nd, and 5th. Granted they had a little help from other drivers (Ralf vs. RB) early in the season, but it seems each race they have trouble with a different system. Ralf probably had 3rd sewn up at Monaco, possibly could have even taken 2nd then retired with some kind of electronic failure. I think they have strong cars all around, not just the much talked about BMW power, it's just they can't seem to put it all together all at once.
J Colman 06-05-2001 08:24 AM

Playstation 1 has a couple real cool F1 games, dont know if you have one or not.

Justin
donjuan 06-05-2001 08:29 AM

I've got a dusty PS1. I really don't play too many games other than racing games, so I don't use it much.
WeRX 06-05-2001 08:53 AM

I have EA Sport's F1 2000. I've read that it's not as good as some of it's predecessors but I like it well enough. Even on expert it's pretty easy so I handicap myself by increasing the downforce on the car beyond optimum levels which really slows it down and makes for some close racing. It's fun to learn the track on the game before watching the race in real life.
donjuan 06-05-2001 08:59 AM

That's the one I have. I've done that too, handicapped my own car intentionally, but that's not nearly as fun as if the other drivers weren't just too damn slow. In a full length race I lap Schumi, Mika, DC, 4 or 5 times. (heh, sounds cool to say that)
J Colman 06-05-2001 10:51 AM

There's onbe for playstation that came out in like 1998, that is just awesome, such a fun game.

Justin
Fred Zaplitny 06-06-2001 09:15 AM

Montoya will win!

Now that I got that out of my system, I will say that DC will podium in Canada.

Fred
Somehow still a Montoya fan (but losing respect rapidly)
donjuan 06-06-2001 09:20 AM

No comment about Chili Dog Montoya [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif[/img]

I am REALLY hoping that DC doesn't lose the championship by just a couple points, because everyone will just say "Oh if Bernoldi hadn't held him up." Always DC and his excuses.

I don't think it'll happen though, Schumacher is starting to pull away...
J Colman 06-06-2001 09:34 AM

DC's championship chances will start to falter soon, trust me. DC will stall on the grid, causing him to throw a mini tantrum, and he will get a time out. Dennis will be so mad that he will have a box of Depends at the ready in case he looses control of his bodily functions. Schumacher will win, with Rubens and Ralf on the podium.

Justin
donjuan 06-06-2001 09:40 AM

[img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/lol.gif[/img] Depends...that's hilarious. He does seem like he's about to pop.

My podium is R. Schumacher, M. Schumacher, Hakkinen. Come on Mika...I think everyone wants to see you do well [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif[/img]
J Colman 06-06-2001 09:45 AM

Oh Yeah, I forgot about Mika. I hope he gets second. No more DC!!!!!

Justin
Fred Zaplitny 06-06-2001 10:14 AM

I am going to have some chili dogs tonight for dinner. Maybe that will bring Montoya the luck he needs. Hopefully he can keep his mouth shut and win a race for once.

DC will podium. Don't you guys want to see a dogfight for the championship? It will be rather anti-climactic to go to the USGP with Schumy having it all wrapped up.
J Colman 06-06-2001 10:23 AM

"Wrapped like a mummy"

Thats how I like it, especially when Schumi is in charge.

Justin
donjuan 06-06-2001 10:30 AM

Oh there will be a dogfight alright, but it's Schumacher v. Schumacher my friends. Ralf goes on a winning streak starting this Sunday and challenges big brother for all of the marbles. It comes down to the final race...

Yeah, I know, but just let me live in my own little world ok??
J Colman 06-06-2001 11:52 AM

[img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/lol.gif[/img] We talk so much ***** in this forum, it's ridiculous. If only we were the commentators for Speedvision, that would be sweet.

donjuan: "It appears he suffered a failure of the ass-itch suppression system and lost control trying to scratch, Justin. The safety car is now out and it appears that due to the slow pace, Juan Pablo Montoya is having a chili-dog as he cruises around the circuit."

Arioch: "Gentlemen don't forget that Kimi Raikonnen was on lap 32, and DID pull a tear-off just before he lost control, you all owe me 50 pounds."

Fred Zaplitny: "Montoya will win!!"

You know what I would find funny as hell? I think someone should pair up some uppity brit (no offense Justin) F1 commentator with some Tennesee backwoods NASCAR commentator, and then team them up to do commentary for both NASCAR and F1 races. That would be freaking hilarious...Have them arguing over terminology and strategy, etc. HEH.

"Looks lahk eez motor blowed up on eem"
"You mean to say his engine failed, yes Delbert?"

English Highbrow: "Are you bleeding crazy Billy Bob, they dont nudge in Formula 1, this is the pinnacle of motor racing"

NASCAR Hick: "Wooaaahhh, hold yer horses there cowboy. I think Miker is tryin to get a draft through turn 1, he's like a tornado in a barn, that Miker".

Yes, I was also caught laughing my a$$ off at work! Thanks guys!

Time to go get some chili dogs!

My new prediction: Schumacher goes out on the first lap with a broken fingernail. Montoya will go on to victory because he wants the race to end ASAP since the chili dog stand closes early on Sunday.

Edit-still can't spell that damn German's name!

J Colman: "And what is it with Villeneuve and his balding head and that scraggly beard?? What's all that about?? He looks a bit like jolly tard-face now dun't'he??

Arioch: "Oh, Juan-Pablo has just offed into the tire barrier. There is chili-dog all over the track. Okay lap 48, who had lap 48??"

Be careful with your jokes guys. Fox is taking over Speedvision. Instead of Nigel and Cletus it could very well be David Hobbs and Darrel Waltrip!

Lets hope they leave the F1 broadcasts alone.
J Colman 06-08-2001 05:55 AM

Oh God, you can't imagine how pissed I would be if they made Speedvision a hick station
Arioch 06-08-2001 06:06 AM

it might happen... and if it does, and all they show is nascar, i'm gonna be PISSED! the tv station i work for (nbc in milwaukee) is going to have nascar soon, which means all i am going to hear all day is nascar nascar nascar!

here's to speedvision staying the same (or at least still having f1 and rally!

-dave
donjuan 06-08-2001 06:06 AM

Me too, but I bet it will start heading that way. I'm sure FOX is looking at it as just another way to cash in on the NASCAR hordes. It'll end up like ESPN's RPM coverage is now, 29 minutes of NASCAR, NHRA, and Dirt Track racing, with one minute of open-wheel racing tucked in before a commercial.

"Tonight on SpeedVision: See your favorite stars from the Craftsman Truck Series battle it out at the Coca-Cola/AC Delco/GM Goodwrench/Tide 400, followed by live coverage of the Little Rock annual demolition derby!! And then, SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY!!!, see crushing Monster Truck action with special guest appearance by Bo Duke and the General Lee!!! BE THERE!!!"
J Colman 06-08-2001 06:28 AM

Bahahahahahaha.

"Tonight at Budds Creek, see a demolition derby like never before, followed by all your favorite Monster Trucks. You'll see GRAVEDIIIIIIIIGGER, GOLLLLLDBERG, and many others. As a special treat you'll see Cooter the bearded hick leap his 4 wheeler over a bus full of kids (with mandatory cool aid stains on their shirts) and to finish off the evening, you'll see TOBY, the fifty foot, fire breathing, car crushing robot".

BAH, I hate all that crap, give me F1,WRC,Autoweek,caranddriver tv, and anything else that is not hick

Justin
donjuan 06-08-2001 06:36 AM

I think NHRA has to be the worst. Yes it's impressive that they can build a top fuel car that produces 5,000 some horsepower. Yes it's impressive that they can cover 1/4 mile in 4.x seconds at 300+ mph. But GOD DAMN why on EARTH would you want to watch it on tv?? The races last 4 freaking SECONDS!!!
15 minutes of waiting, for BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!...parachute..game over. WOOOO! yeah that was entertaining to watch. They you have to listen to some brain surgeon like Force say something like "Yeah the car was runnin gooouud ta'day, and we had a little luck by gettin the left lane, it's been bettr all day. Tho't she was gettin away from me there for a second gettin all sideways, but I just held on to her and put the pedal down and we came out with a win."
Arioch 06-08-2001 06:44 AM
she was gettin away from me there for a second gettin all sideways

BWAHAHAHA!!! they wouldn't know sideways from a hole in the ground! at least not linke burns knows sideways!

anyone can drive straight or in nice sweeping left hand turns. tell them to go 90mph right next to a cliff and see if they have the balls to push for a little more speed! :p
