Murray 12-26-2001 09:48 PM

bodykits for my style front?

are there any other kits out for this front end? this is my 97 L Sedan , i kinda like it the way it is, but i need a lip, so, anyknow know of one other than the Holzer(attached below) for this? i would like to get something for it, rather than swapping to a newer front bumper? any help would be greatly appreciated, oh, and if you could post the pics of any that you know of with it, that would really help me out also.(price too if im not asking too much:D )
thanks in advance

*jaw drops*

that lip is b-b-b-eautiful
Evil-Mastermind 12-27-2001 12:35 AM

I like it too! Thanks Canada! ( I'll bet that they don't hear that phrase very often ;) )
Evil-Mastermind 12-27-2001 12:38 AM

Say, what's the deal with that Holzer lip pic? I almost bought one a year ago, but the guy who was selling them could only provide that generic photo, though he claims to have the lip on his car. I thought it was kind of lurky so I backed out. My point: Are there any other pics of that Holzer lip anywhere? I've never seen anything but that one.
scubaracer 12-27-2001 03:18 AM

holzer lip?

The holzer lip is cool but that grill is really ugly. same with those fog covers. the X design is lame.

just my two cents;)
yuzo 12-27-2001 04:05 AM

yups holzier lip is dope but the fog covers and grill has got to go. much props to the second car ( i forgot your name) on what you have done to the cheap fog covers. and what is the deal on holzier...why haven't i ever heard anything about this...and what lip was that second one and where do you get it from?
omio 12-27-2001 08:09 AM

That would be me:D

"lurky"?? I won't take that person.

I had up a bunch of pics up in this forum a few weeks ago but the only loaded for a day with help of Brian. They were very large and I guess the server got too many hits and now they are gone,
and I didn't have copies.

I definetely have the Holzer lip and rear apron installed on my car.

And yes... there is one set left.

Search: ( Albert - holzer).
PM me if seriously interested.

lol@ Evil-Mastermind! if i was from Canada, i would burn down your house...but i am from Pennsylvania, so i cant say much either

but is there any info on the silver car's lip? i will see if someone can mold it on for me when i get an RS, it would look saawweet!

btw, does the Holzer lip come down at all from the bumper? it looks from those pics it only comes out
Albert 12-27-2001 09:51 PM

You are correct the Holzer lip is only .75" lower in front.
It "comes out" about 2" in front of the bumper.
At high speeds it acts as a splitter, increasing stability. It is not an airdam. Compare it to a smaller version of the GReddy lip.

IMHO the grey piece looks like it wasn't designed for an Impreza, the lines don't blend on the sides, however from straight on it does looks nice, maybe it looks different in person.

One of the guys I spoke to in Holland said the Holzer lip, side skirts, and apron was designed specifically for use with a base Impreza rear spoiler. He stated that in combination they actually increased downforce [I recall above 84 mph??]. Our RS wing does not help:p

*edit: I ment GReddy, not CUSCO.
Mean Green Subie 12-27-2001 10:45 PM

if anyone backs out , it's mine.........
SubyObsessive 12-27-2001 11:14 PM

Mean Green Suby....hey its levels1069 from AIM

that lip would look hot on your car, with the new coilovers...go for it man

btw, if anyone else wants to hit me up on aol....my name is levels1069 just say u r from the i-club and i wont ignore u :)
yuzo 12-28-2001 02:56 AM

hey subyobsessive...if no one wants it, i'll take it. i'm on aim and my sn is superterrestrial.
Murray 12-28-2001 10:05 AM

also keep in mind that the Holzer lip is 280 without shipping, which is why i didnt get it in the first place, i was short on cash, and now i like the silver one a little better, well, as long as it can be made in urethane, theres too many things that i can brake a fiberglas kit on in this area.
im not saying dont get hte lip, but its a lil bit expensive for just a front lip i think.
anyway, good luck to whom ever buys it, its a great looking piece, and hte rear(for only 200 i think?) also looks amazing.
Murray
omio 12-28-2001 10:34 AM

I agree with Murray

I like the lip on the silver one...could someone please let me know how to get in touch with Promax so that I can order one and possibly price. Thanks

Dave
Murray 12-28-2001 12:20 PM

bad news...in a way

ok, i searched for the owner of the car, and found him/her --> Tigo
so i looked at all the sweet pics at this previos post enjoy.
well, the phone number is also included on there, but i just got through and turned out to be a house number, which makes me figure that the number may have been entered wrong, so im going to further my search to the rest of hte web.
somoene did post that www.pro-max.com was a website, but i didnt see anything for subaru's on the site..
so anyway, i didnt get thru, so i dont know of a price, but i want this lip, so im gonna make it my goal to find info on it, hehe.

Not to go way off topic. But I dig those wheels on the red one - what are they?
Evil-Mastermind 12-28-2001 01:47 PM

Hey sorry Albert, no offense intended. I'm a little gun shy about private sales as I've had some really bad experiences before, if I get an inkling of a hunch I back out. Looks like you'll have no prob unloading your last lip though. Good luck! :)
JaiMak 12-28-2001 05:21 PM

You guys are REALLY funny.. all of you pulling your hair out trying to find out where the silver RS's lip is from, but only one person PM'D me.

Dave, I replied to your PM, and for everyone else- Promax does NOT have a website (or anything functional anyways)

You can get in touch with them by calling 416-609-9338 and ask for Barry

Tell him James from the Toronto Subaru Club gave you the number and ask if he has any in stock.

That's it..

Sheesh.

theres always the "slightly modifyd to fit" GReedy lip

Holzer (Goeckel) simply calls it "Desigh 09" (17x7.5). I'm sure somewhere in europe it has a true name. Last year it was priced at $190 each + shipping. To date I know of no one in North America who has em.
Murray 12-28-2001 06:04 PM

Jaimak

i called the number, it wasnt a company number, but tell ya what, if you call and find out some info for me, i will pay-pal you $3(well paid for 3 minutes work)

do RS hoods fit on the L's? or do you just buy the vents and scoops?
sstyle 12-30-2001 04:20 PM

I would be very very intersted in the Promax lip (on the silver RS) and maybe even the grill. Please help us all. WE want to buy this lip now, i have been searching for lips for MY98s for a while now, and this the one i want too. So anyone, please find out how we can purchase them.
Thank you,
Norbert
Murray 12-30-2001 06:56 PM

Silver 2002 WRX---
the RS hoods do fit on the L models, at least after 97 anyway, i attached a picture below to prove it, but if you were like me, you still have to get the scoop and vents(i only have hood and vents at this time)
--------

sstyle--
many of us are interested in this lip, apparently Jaimak is local to the comapny that sells it, and he says he will stop by the shop and get some info on it when he has time.
i would like to try to organize a group buy on this if possible, so i will wait for any info on it first.

thats cool. L's look a lot better with the vents and scoop
synapse79 12-31-2001 12:23 AM

check this out
http://www.afsmotorsports.com/bycar/ForImpreza.htm
look at the trials front bumper

does anybody know if it would use any of the factory mounts, or would it require custom mounting hardware?

thanks

synapse79 12-31-2001 12:27 AM

can't remember what model for the life of me, but i like the hood that has the single scoop in the middle. i like the cleaner look..

can anybody help me out with what model those are off of?
it looks like it would fit the L
yuzo 12-31-2001 02:54 AM

i'm still wondering if you could fit an RS lip on an L bumper? can this be done with just no or very little modifications? please tell me so i don't have to go through the whole hassle of buying a new bumper then a lip.
Albert 12-31-2001 06:43 PM

If the L bumper is identical to Murray's then yes you can if the lip is for a 98RS.

MY99- new age lip on an L is a custom job but can be done.

Earlier 93-95? imprezas have a different lower section and will require a custom install.

You can install any year impreza lip on a L, it will be a custom $$$ job.
Murray 12-31-2001 08:18 PM

sooo.....

your saying any lip that fits a 98 RS will fit my 97 L(also OBS models?) bumper ?
damn..that may widen my selection, but i still like the Promax one..
Murray
yuzo 12-31-2001 09:08 PM

soo i have a 2000 L and an RS bumper will fit my obs bumber too? cool if so.

Any 99-01 bumper will replace your 2000 L (obs) bumper.
*****************************

Murray- yes, any 98RS lip will fit your 97 L obs.
Murray 01-01-2002 06:08 PM

ok, thats cool, but just for clarification, i dont have an OBS, just a normal L sedan.
but since the OBS's have the same from as my car(or the other way around), it will all work out fine.
SO,
anyone get any info on the lip yet? im in serious need of one!!:D

Accurit Performance...

can you fill us in on some other info on that lip as well? like whats its made of, and maybe a few more pics?
----
to anyone else with a front lip made out of fiberglass, how strong are they and how much abuse can they take before they crack? i jsut found that the Promax one is fiberglass, and i dont think i want to go thru the trouble of buying it, molding it, and remaking a bunch in urethane.
i hear many bad thing about fiberglass kits, but if it comes down to it, i would buy one.
any info on that would be great.
thanks.

Murray 01-03-2002 11:04 AM

some info on the lip(from the owner)

no, i dint get one of htese lips yet, but i did get in contact with Tigo(owner of the silver car).
he said hte lip is fiberglass, and thru hte company he got it from, it ran him $300Canadian, which converts to roughly $190US.
---
ACC, any chance you can get a new/used hood scoop for under $150US? as you see from my pics, i still missing that oh-so-essential piece.
Murray
Accurit Performance 01-03-2002 12:40 PM

sure Murray i thought it was jus open for a cold air intake mod ?

hehe i think the standard hood scoop may actually be cheap...i ll ask around at my dealers and i ma lso checkin my price book

i get back in few mins
Accurit Performance 01-03-2002 12:43 PM

ok i tink i found it

Murray - hood scoop will run u NEW for about 150 but thats only the hood scoop alone and unpainted.....if u need all the bolts and so on it ll prolly cost about 20 bucks or so? but do u need the back plate?
i l get the price confirmed with my dealer about this soon...

Acc
Murray 01-03-2002 01:46 PM

lol, cold air intake mod...not yet, im still running the stock airbox and filter.
hehe...whati should do is mount an intercooler there, so i can cool down my slow moving air.
i got a price of 150 thru North Ursalia's dealership(im guessing thats what it is) cause thats where i got hte price.
i was hopeing someone would have a used one from a C.F upgrade...oh well. :(

the backing plate i dont have yet either, but seeing how im driving with a LARGE HOLE IN MY HOOD, i dont think that a little water will hurt anything, esp. since it falls onto the giant resonator before the TB.
anyone out there think i should just move my MAF and put a nice cone filter out the top of the hood? lol. j/k
--
let us know when you get info on a lip, im interested in buying within the next 2 weeks, then im due for insurance, credit card, and car payments again.
