HAHAHAHA!!, yeah now that is one sweet little wagon.

"ANY FOOL CAN GO FAST IN A STRAIT LINE"

I expect that thing to be sputtering and kick out massive flames from the ALS. Oh wait, its a PGT entry right? Guess the flames will have to be decal only :D

I hope you guys bring it to the next level in '04. Nothing like a monster Open class car!!!

Hey Jamie, thanks for documenting the buildup with pictures. It gives us folks who may be interested in doing the same in the future a clear idea of what to expect. I'd love to see how the roll cage goes together as well. Keep us posted.

Subie Gal 02-14-2003 11:23 AM

i have some cage piccies to upload...

You know that deal you have going on, $10 for your name....Shall we ask Richard Burns if he wants his name on it. He should be able to cough up $10.oo from somwhere:)

I'd buy one. That's not a bad way to raise some cash for your efforts.

Oh, and I would say that the any fool bit is sticker worthy.
parid 02-14-2003 12:37 PM

I'd buy one if it wasn't too big and went to a good rally cause :). Maybe something that fit in the back below the wiper.
Subie Gal 02-14-2003 12:39 PM

if i make some up.. i wont be aiming to make $ off of them :)

you wanna help??

donate!!!

rear window?

side window trim?

help! :D
johnfelstead 02-14-2003 01:31 PM

Awesome Jamie! Dont forget to stick me on there somewhere! ;)

a cool area would be to fill the steel area above the side windows and down the steel section between the back door window and the wagon rear window with names. :D In yellow lettering of course ;)
Subie Gal 02-14-2003 01:36 PM

i was thinking neon orange

but maybe i'll just go w/yellow :D

heheheee

both actually.... I would make a small SubieGal Racing sticker for those who donate, and a larger "ANY FOOL CAN GO FAST IN A STRAIT LINE" just because it's so cool.

why.... thank you ;)
cessna152 02-14-2003 02:40 PM

That would be hot. A smaller sticker for those who pay for the names on the car :D or a picture of the car.
Subie Gal 02-14-2003 02:50 PM

i think i'll get those who donate a lil sticker (subiegal)
and get the "any fools" made up as an optional cheap purchase :)

cheers
Jamie
peepshow 02-14-2003 03:02 PM

Jamie, you've got cash (via PayPal).:D

My vain side wants to suggest putting the names on the hood.:o However, I must agree with Mr. Felstead on this one and say the body area between the rear door glass and the rear cargo glass would be just about perfect.

Can you feel the wagon love?!?!?!?!?!

Plus you should make a sticker that say You Just Got Beat By a Wagon:D

I think it makes a good point. It takes skill, determination, and intelligence to rally a car. There are a lot more hazards to driving a rally car than racing on the street, or at a drag strip. Besides, if I were one of her sponsors, (Oh yeah, I guess I did make a donation!!), I doubt I would be supporting Rally racing and Drag Racing. Two totally different types of motorsports.

 Degrades people? Please, tell me how it degrades someone. It tells the truth. Any person capable of holding a steering wheel, and mashing a gas pedal can 'street race'.

  'Low mentality'? You seem to be intelligent enough to know better than that. It takes cleverness to come up with a slogan, or statement like that.

Go get comfortably numb, and relax. :) :)
johnfelstead 02-16-2003 02:15 PM

It's called having a sense of humour. :D Not everyone posses one ;) but you dont go through life worrying about that.

And it doesn't take any of those things to drive a top fuel drag car that is accelerating as fast as a space shuttle taking off?
Are you saying it doesn;t take skill and determination to race a 7,000hp car at 320mph. If that were the case, their times would be identical every time they ran and John Force wouldn't be a dominating Funny Car driver
:There are a lot more hazards to driving a rally car than racing on the street, or at a drag strip. .
First of all, we are not talking about racing on the street but I would be willing to bet that there are many more hazards racing on the street than rally racing. Second of all, What do hazards have to do with anything???
:Besides, if I were one of her sponsors, (Oh yeah, I guess I did make a donation!!), I doubt I would be supporting Rally racing and Drag Racing. Two totally different types of motorsports.
Have you looked at hersponsor list and the stickers on her car?
Are you trying to say that Sunoco, Valvoline, Hawk brake pads, StonGard, Turtlewax, and others only sponsor Rally??? then think again...
 Degrades people? Please, tell me how it degrades someone. It tells the truth. .
As a quasi-professional racer herself, I would think that she could at least have the decency to realize and understand that motorsports come in all shapes and sizes. Just because someone goes in a straight line for only 4.5 seconds at a time doesn't mean they are any less skilled as a driver. By calling these people "fools", she is degrading fellow racers that are the best of the best in their respective class of racing and doing what they love to do, just like her.
:Any person capable of holding a steering wheel, and mashing a gas pedal can 'street race'.
I said nothing about street racing at all. there is a big difference between street racing and "going fast in a straight line" which is an obvious referance to drag racing. Have you ever missed a shift, bogged off the line, stalled, or accidently ran into the rev limiter? It does take skill to get from point A to point B as quick as possible.
::rolleyes:  'Low mentality'? You seem to be intelligent enough to know better than that. It takes cleverness to come up with a slogan, or statement like that.
Yes it does take cleverness to come up with a catchy slogan, but it doesn't take much mentality to realize that in a professional sport when sponsorship and fans is what drives the sport, you want to appeal to as many people as possible. There are going to be those fans and sponsors that like her regardless of if she puts that sticker on the car. But there are also going to be fans and sponsors that would have liked her without the decal, but don't now and/or refuse to sink money into her team because they ALSO sponsor or support other types of racing.

Do you see slogans on top professional motorsports teams that degrade other drivers? no. One reason is because they have respect for other forms of motorsports and the other drivers that are at the top of their game.

I have a great sense of humor. I just don't find it funny for a team that wants to act professionally in sanctioned racing to put down other forms of motorsports.

And I also think there is a huge difference in even changing it from "any fool" to "anyone". but even that is still wrong.

Umm i think those top fuel drags cars are automatic so no fear of shifting there.

Second just chill out man its only a sticker. We poke fun at them they poke fun at us its like a circle of fun and no one really should take it as seriously as you

Actually, the top fuel cars are single speeds that use clutch packs and tire expansion (centrifugal force) to act as a gear change.

So if I came on here and posted a pic of my car with a sticker saying something bad about rally racing, I wouldn't get flamed? yeah right

I agree with you that people poke fun at other people. I hear it during IROC races and on interviews. I have no problem with people poking fun at each when they are around each other or know each other.

But I know how the majority of this board (including Jamie) feels about Drag racing (and NASCAR racing but that is a different story) and from what I have seen in the past on this board, her sticker is not "poking fun" at drag racing. Her sticker says exactly how she feels about it. And it is unprofessional to put that on a Professional car. That's all I'm saying. :)

In PGT class the heating & ventilation system must stay (as well as the ducting inside the dash, etc. However the AC system may be removed.

I think in Open, you can take the whole deal out.

It's humour, and i think it's funny.

I find the funny thing is she built the car(with some help of course) in like a matter of a month or so, which i think is good but being i dont know anything about rally who knows
TFW 02-16-2003 11:11 PM

Eric, you do makes some points in your posts. However, it seems that the people who are at these events love that sticker. Lots of giggles from the racers and the spectators. By the way, when Jamie says "any fool can go fast in a streight line"... the other part of that is "but it takes a special fool to do it in the mud and curves." The people like it, a few complain. No harm is intended, she isn't slamming all other motorsports at all.

Jamie posted pics of her car. People gave their opinion. I gave my opinion which didn't agree with everyone else that posted. I don't see how I made a mess of this thread... I simply posted my thoughts on the car like everyone else did

Then, people followed up by quoting my opinion and saying certain things. Am I not allowed to explain why I feel how I feel and retort to comments people made?

I don't see any bad arguments or anything. Just a little disagreement and debate between people. I don't think anyone is making a monkey of themselves.
