its for a snorkle. check out some safari rally pics of the impreza and youll see what it is. it connects to it and goes up and over the passanger side, near the sunroof area.

i believe it is to allow the engine to breathe when it is underwater.

They are not hot, just rather exclusive and rare. I believe that there are 3 total in the country, one on wop's car, one on the SCC / Subaru RX, and one on my car.

You can buy them from Prodrive, brand new, for $3000, before shipping. Or, you can be patient and buy a carbon replica for $800 from wop and I. Production should start in a month or so. We may offer different options as far as whether you use your own scoop, or if you want your vents in fiberglass or not. Should we start an interest list?

Have you ever seen the Safari rally? No? Here's a picture of a model of the Safari prepped car. A snorkel is attached through that hole to the intake so that deep water crossings can be made without drowning the engine.
