Way to go Billy!!!
I was watching some of the Challenge and glad the timing problems didn't screw with you. You were smokin fast!!!!
FYI guys, the timing system kept going down. Probably cause of the heat. There were long delays all weekend.
Friend of mine here in NEOKLA laid the smack down and won STS in a Neon ACR over the spec hondas.
Me on the other hand was struggling with the inconsistant surface and had trouble with the slaloms. It didn't help that one of my Koni shocks had a stuck rebound adjuster up front. I ended up in 3rd behind Paul Leonard in the former Mattucci BMW by 1.3 and .011 behind his codriver in 2nd.
I got some work too do. :D My best runs were when I keep running 1.9-2.0 60ft times.

Congrats Martin on trophying in your first pro-solo!, H-Town Represent! :D :disco:
(you'll perhaps be happy to know that while I missed going up there with you Martin, Brian and I made significant progress on the GRM car, so it was a worthy sacrifice :) )

So lemme see. If I calculated correctly:
Hawk Super Challenge win - $500
Honda Street Challenge win - $500
Subaru Challenge win - $500
Yokohama Super Challenge win - $500
5th Super Challenge qualifier - $85
Yokohama class win - $500
Hawk class win - $100 product certificate
So $2685, if I added right. And 52 Challenge points, should Billy continue in STX for other events in the Series. Nice take! :) Yeah, I think Billy should buy next round. :D ;)
Edit: corrected to properly attribute the Super Challenge.

It was pretty cool watching Billy consistently drive his a$$ off and win one for the Subie's! After winning STU I managed to cut a .494 RL on my second run in the super challenge, what a crappy way to go out. =/

I think it was just a typo on Jens part. The Thuper Challenge winner gets $500. (Whatever they call the challenge today). :)

I just finished washing the champange off my car :furious: after the 23 hour drive back home...
congrats to billy  ... and also thanks to Zzyzx Motorsports, Endless USA, and Crazy Monkey Racing for its help to get this car to where it is now! :D
The car was toast after the challenge rounds... tires had no more grip... engine was overheating... and my exhaust is broken once again
Some changes were made to the car before the event and it was all over the place for the first heat. It was very hard to control cause the car was super loose  We made some tweeks to settle the car down but it was still pretty loose... Billy was able to compensate his driving to adapt to the car and how he pulled this off i dont know

Put it this way, the best thing about the weekend was pulling seperate .5xx reaction times and breaking into the 1.9 60 ft range.
Oh, and I'm not driving a mini

Thanks everybody. I need to thank Crazy Monkey Racing, Endless USA and ZZYZX Motorsports for the help getting the car where it is now. Also, thanks to the support from NASIOC. It is great to have you guys supporting all those out there racing Subarus. Finally, Jason Wong gets a big thanks for letting me borrow the car.
The weekend was very exhausting. Between the heat and waiting for the timing issues, everybody was close to heat exhaustion. By the end of the challenge the car was overheated, as well as the tires and me. I was surprised I made it as far as I did, seeing as I made a lot of mistakes out on course.
The contingency money was an added bonus. With the cost of diesel (got about 9 mpg with the truck), tires, breaking Jason's exhaust, and breaking the truck, I should be able to afford buying some tequilla shots at Nationals. :D You thought Joel's car was loud, just wait.
By the way, we decided that I would run the car for the rest of the season two weeks before this event. With a lot of my competitors moving on in STS, I needed a change from running my car. It should be a great season. There are alot of tough competitors in STX this year.
Thanks again.

I'm apparently a little late to the party!
Congrats to Billy on the win. Its days like this that make me rather proud to be finishing 2nd or 3rd to you guys at the local events. Its one thing if its just some guy with a fast car. Its completely different when its a friend with a nationally competitive car!
On a side note...I was wondering what your car was doing at Tuning Factory the other night. Now I know, and I hope that exhaust doesn't make you any faster. I've already swapped suspensions twice in an attempt to catch up!
