What do you guys think is the hottest akward color of wheels? Like red, green, or whatever. Particularly on a white car. Or hell, choose your own combination!

Gold is pretty awkward, copared to every other car out there. Don't think any neon colored wheels are hot, rice, but not hot.

Yea, ive always loved the takata green! One guy had a huge thread about gettin his wheels green. He got flammed alot.. but ironically after he got put on the cover of importtuner... it wasnt soo ricey :lol:

Just a film on the tail lights...If anyone has the new issue of superstreet...theres a civic hatch and jdm integra that are reaaaaaallly hot...The teg has red or pink wheels with a polished lip and the hatch has takata green te37's...but i think the blue te37s or cosmic blue rotas are hot.

Not too long ago, there was a guy wo was trying to decide between 2 colors for his wheels on his white STi. The first color was a darker blue, like MBP or Rota's Cosmic Blue. The second color was this:

But someone stated his car would look like a clown car with the lighter blue wheels. I think that pretty much sealed teh deal for him. I like that lighter, brighter blue, and think I'm going to paint my winter steelies that color.

I would do blue wheels, but im superstitious towards things that are blue on or in my car.
I love that red though... But the thing is, theres already been a white wagon with green wheels, and a blue wagon with red wheels. Both were extremely delicious. And front page coverage...

I think the easiest way to pull off a wierd color on the wheels is when its either on a white or black car. It can also be cool when the wheels are same color as the paint, with possibly a polished lip.
One of the coolest paint/wheel combos out there is on the corvette pace car that was a purple with yellow wheels. Unique!

Depending on the color of the car you could always go to the opposite side of the spectrum. It's kind of like the negative on a photo. Find a color that's opposite and that should seem to blend magically. Example is a redish / pinkish color which is opposite WRB. If the car is black or white then any color will do. What about flat black rims with "STi pink" lugs and lips on them. If you want something that no one has just get flat brown. LOL

The Dodge Viper they sold one year in Red (Ketchup) with Yellow (Mustard) Wheels turned out to be a very special collector car.
I'm partial to Black w/ Gunmetal or dark Grey wheels.

These are my winter wheels that are wrapped in Blizzaks. I got them powder coated so the finish looks factory with a nice gloss finish. My camera sucks though so you can't really get the full effect. These things are bright. For anyone that wants to do this, be prepared to get a lot of stares and laughs. You'll have to have pretty thick skin because people have all kinds of interesting things to say about the color. :)

When I was choosing my rim colour (white STi) I did a bunch of Chops for my own purposes, I tried most hues, and the ones that worked best were the duck-egg blue (lighter blue), a mid/light red (STi cherry red would look awesome), a black with a few parts of blue (like a midnight black), and then straight gloss black.
I'm about to upgrade to some hyperblack advan RS 18x8.5s, but for my track wheels I'm going to try the STi cherry red :)

I can remember when Subaru first used the gold wheels on the 25RS. I loved it! And people used to make fun of the hood scoops and wing too! Can you believe it!??! I love when some members see a Subaru that is like 1" lower and they freak out. I know the ramifications of going too low, but they look so good with an inch or two of drop. :devil:

It probably has coil-overs on it but those wheels look pretty big. STI starts off lower then the WRX too. Either way I love the way it looks! :banana:

yellow+red= ronald mcdonald. Lets get real the viper is beautiful car. If you had the money would you go for that look in the year 2006? I doubt it. I remember seeing red and yellow mazda mx3 hatches and neons in the early days of sport compacts. It was fugly then and is off the charts fugly now. Just my opinion but we are mostly wrx owners or performance car owners I'm thinking we have some taste.

you brother. I agree... alot of cars cant pull it off... like a neon or a civic. But awkward wheels on a nice car, could make it unique, set it from the crowd, and still look good. Who would have ever though gold would look good on something other than a caddy...
