I need some help with deciding SILVER graphics for my BLUE subie

I am planning to get SILVER graphics put on to the side of my car. I've come down to three basic designs, but i cant decide which one would look the best, or would all three look bad and doing nothing is the best. I'm spending ~$300 for this. The final drafts will be in silver, wont be all cut up and choppy (wheel wells wont make the designs look as bad as the do in the pictures), and will be rearraged by the shop a little until they look good, but i need a general consensus of opinions of subie masters to help formulate my final decision.

if you want my true opinion they are all ugly and will look cheap on the car. Now if you got like a ghost paint job done with the flames like that and like some aero kit i think it would look pretty cool.
your car on the outside looks stock so i dunno id save the cash and put it towards some rims or something to that nature.
but thsoe are my opinions

frankly, put the money into some decent tires.
now thats out of the way, I would choose the 1st picture. The flames are not too fat like in the 3rd pic, and the 2nd pic the graphics are too narrow, and don't take up a lot of space.

YUCK!!! They all look ugly. Use the money for something else!

Hold up there vinyl boy! Flames belong on muscle cars and hot rods 1st off. Second, theres way to much of your car being covered....LESS IS MORE! remember that. Try to cut it down a tad, dont go so far back, it will take the lines right out of the car. But, mainly do what cha want. Thats just my 2 cents.

Maybe something a little more subtle. I realize those are rough drafts but none are really appealing. Try something that accents the lines of the car. Those patterns just occupy space and are kind of dated.

I would have to agree I don't think that they would look all that good,,, but thats just me and my car,,, It's yours and you can do what ever you want to do with it,,, But if I was you I would worry about the rims and rubber and whats under the hood before you do anything....

well if we were to help u at all, first u have to say will the flames be on both sides of the car? that makes a big difference.
I agree with the other guys, less if more. But if u r determined to put flames on, u might want to consider if u want it just on one side or not. I think the designs r far too regular, and organized, maybe something more artistic or flowing.
also silver doesnt look too great on blue, have u tried to photoshop other colors? i know silver has bling-bling feel but on blue it is not so hot. Have u considered pearl (dont know what it is called but is mulitple layers and looks different at every angle) it might be pricy but u want ur car too look good right

I have to chuckle every time I browse over these sorts of threads. How is it that a web site dedictated to changing automobiles is so filled with purists when it comes to aesthetics?
Here's my suggestion: Kind of use the third one, but put it higher on the car. Have it follow the line between the hood and fender and then straight back to the tail lights. Have the top make a more-or-less straight line, but have the flames on the bottom come down in long sweeping backward strokes.

It's amazing what people would rather have than money.
I'd have to go along with everyone else here and say that they're all pretty ugly.
Having said that, if you MUST go with the flames, I like the second one the best.
But with the first one... Except, maybe, perhaps, instead of the flames just coming from the front wheel wells... go with the beauty of AWD and see if you can make it look decent coming from the rears as well.
Digital Bath:
I don't know about the other people, but I am just not a big fan of graphics on a vehicle, period. I like the clean look of the lines of the machine, and would rather look at that than someone trying to gussy it up with art. It's a car, not a piece of canvas! In the same vein, I hate engravings on a firearm or knife, not a big fan of tatoos, carved wood panelling, etc.

I have the rally graphics in Medium Gray Metallic (No Shadow) on my silver WRX and they look great. If your heading in the direction of Fast & Furious then you have to be much more original. Flames are muscle car graphics - hit a few more car shows, get some more ideas and do something really original but with taste.

And I contend that a car isn't just a car, it's a piece of engineered art and that people who want to give it a look should do it. The car has a personality and a spirit in the hands of the person who owns it. People decorate cars the same way they decorate their bodies -to express something inside. Maybe flames aren't the right thing for this car (I won't argue with that), but I feel that all cars have something inside of them that needs to be let out. Ok, well, maybe not Geo Metros...:D
How people choose to let that out is up to them.
If you want to ruin your car and have true car enthusiasts laugh at you, go right ahead
No true enthusiast would laugh at any car. The true enthusiast would see the car for what it is and what it can be. The true enthusiast can see the soul of the car, and not be concerned the color of its skin. True enthusiast? HA! Car fascist in my opinion.

That is what i was about to suggest (maybe a darker metalic blue vinly on your blue car): i had a huge vw sign on the hood of my gti and i liked it for about a week - then i hated it. keep it simple keep it small! the less you have to peel the better... vinyl is more trouble than it's worth IMO - i have a few stickers on the glass but that's really easy to get off... never again on the paint - NEVER!

Hmm, I see what you are saying.. but I think what I am trying to say is that the car is beautiful for what it is already, not what is painted on top of it. Sort of like a sculpture - the Venus De Milo would not be better if someone painted the Last Supper on her back... That's my view, along those lines.
Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Personally, I think flames are pretty sweet. I don't plan on doing that to my WRX, but to each his own. People always give kids in Civics and Integras a hard time for modding their cars (myself included occassionally), but if they want to do that to their cars, it's their right. In my opinion, cars are an extention of ourselves. Do with them what you see fit.
Now, I spend a lot more time on the other forum (I-Club), and I think I'm beginning to realize why. NASIOC seems like it's full of people that like to push their opinions on others. All these stupid smilies and ignorant comments make you look like a bunch of 3rd grade @$$holes. Just my thoughts.

I don't like the flames either on a WRX. Flames are good on a boxy car lacking in curves (ie: muscle cars with aerodynamics of bricks). When you have a curvyish car and give it flames... well it takes away from the actual lines of the car.
A nice linear type design suits a WRX much better.
Look at my rice... erm.. race car here: (It's not a daily driver, just an auto-x car).
http://www.rallydecals.com/rallydecals/kccar/new/
Notice the distinct lack of accent graphics. But many people have complimented the car both on line and offline. Why? It's not 'gaudy'. Flames on a WRX, that's not specifically a race car that you WANT to be noticed, stockish, isn't THAT good an idea IMHO. (ie: subiegals wagon, of which I'm not a fan of her rally car flame looks either but it sure gets the car noticed.) :)

ummmm yeah the graphics you've chosen aren't a good idea. im sure you'd get more "that's hilarious" instead of "holy Shiza". here's what im thinking of getting. the 2003 version rally decals in a ghost paint on a black wrx or light blue paint of the decals on a blue wrx. (ps. i haven't bought mine yet. hopefully within the next month)

I think the 1st design takes away a little bit of your low end torque but gives you quite a bit of top end speed.
The 2nd may throw a CEL but I've seen fixes for this.
And the 3rd isn't CARB approved so you may need to take it off in 2 years.
:p If you made the first one like a darker more intense blue or maybe even purple-ish I think it would look pretty nice.

I will NEVER understand how people spent money to do that to their cars yet keep the stock tires and rims.

ROFLMAO. ok man y'all really take advantage of the anonymous factor of the internet to rag on people all out! I do agree though that if you're going to change something for aesthetics change the WHEELS and tires. BTW while were ragging on people. Tires mount on WHEELS! NOT rims. They are not rims and never were rims. Rims are the things that hold hub-caps on, I think. I'm sure if anyone here posted pics of a Subaru Impreza with hubcaps they would point that out.
