CM. though every now and then we let a BM or AM car take TTOD. stock class? SS corvette z06. ST classes? usually a CIVIC, though we've started seeing an M3 up there. Prepared? EP. the driver took home 5th at topeka this year, after running day one with rear tires that were 3yrs old. there are guys who's beer budgets exceed this guys entire racing budget. SM? another CIVIC, unless daddio shows up. SP? mike in his DSP BMW.

FTD for every WAI event this year was the national champ CP car.
Behind him were usually CM, then the AS national champ.
SCCA doesn't track raw times, just FTD (CM)...but AS usually has 2 or 3 cars in the top 10 on PAX.

Matt McCabe in his CSP Miata or Mark Jorgenson in his BSP STi (street car) or ESP Cobra (race car) which ever he brings out. Funny thing about Mark is he's taken FTD running on worn out Falken 512's before! Definitely two of the best drivers in our region!

Usually, it's Karter Bollmann or Mike Homes or David Hedderick... HS Minis (1st 2 guys) or ES Miata or whatever David H. happens to be driving.. fast in everything. Or, some visiting luminary like Strelnieks.
"Damn Minis!" [oft-heard in grid]
edit: was going on PAX... didn't see the bit about 'raw' until just now. doh. RAW it would probably be Farris or Stroh (CP Camaro), or Matteucci (before he sold the car) more often than not.

Since we are NOT counting MOD classes (AM, BM, CM, DM, EM, FM...)
Usually an AS Porsche, or something Steven Rankins is driving, a CSP Miata, sometimes (RARELY) an SM car (An EVO). Otherwise, its a DP or AM car.
Oh, I cant forget the Super Rabbit piloted by Flintstone and Rubble (77 rabbit, FSP).

Not counting Mod classes, our Milwaukee Tour winning FJA kart pilot often sets FTD. Yeah, it sucks having your ass handed to you by a 15 year old girl, but we learn to live with it. :P
In real car classes it's usually CS/BS/FS which varies depending on who shows up (Goodner, Reinhart, Tharpe, Ansorage, Bronson a pretty good crowd to run with) All that can change in a heartbeat depending if Neal Tovsen shows up with his SM Scirocco or Ron Vermulm in the big orange CP Camaro.
Counting Mod cars, we've got a pretty high D/E mod per capita. Jeffs Ellerby and Christianson with their co drivers, as well as this years heavily prostested YC-3 of Del Long and whoever else is driving with him.
I wish I could say STX for fast raw times but in that solid of a R compound/slick talent pool, on concrete, the best I can expect is a good PAX finish.

Sounds like Neal Tovsen. Didn't he come in 3rd at Nationals? (Maybe 5th, can't remember.) :)
As for my local region, it depends on what shows up. AM of course if George Bowland shows up. I can't recall seeing him less than 4 seconds faster than anything else out that day. Beyond that it really is whomever the good drivers are in the faster car classes. Just depends. :)

In the Detroit Region, it depends on who shows up and how the course is set. The following couple classes / cars / drivers are usually at the top of the raw time results.
CM - Reynard FF (Gary Godula...2006 National Champ)
BSP - Evo IX RS (John Tak...2006 National Champ and Andy Leiber...2005 ESP National Champ)
F125 - ?? (JT McClintock...2006 National Champ)
SS - Corvette Z06 (Al Chan...2006 trophy winner)
STX - WRX (Billy Brooks...2006 ProSolo National Champ)
In addition we do have a couple locals who performed well at Nationals this year in ESP (Mustang), FS (Camaro), and SM (Evo).

Well we have Tommy Saunders and Stuart Lumpkin, both Multi-time national champs in BM. Then we have a gaggle of national lever drivers in FM. So those are usually the fastest.
Besides those, it's usually (depending on the site, we have 3 very unique sites both in size and surface). Mark Madarash in his ESP Firebird, Mark Berry BSP (Evo),Neal Bellamy(ZO6) or Stuart Maxcy(GT3) both running in SS, Greg Lee in AS (S2K), and some former miata drivers now in BS RX-8's. Including KC's old car, though I've yet to see it run, the new owner should easily be able drive the car very well. I well towards the bottom of raw, though near the top in pax

Hector in Lehman's ASP Z06, Oliver's S4 (SM), or Darrin DiSimo in his MX-5 (CS). The PAX goes to Darrin 99.9% of the time. On the east coast Kolin CAN take it in AS.

DSP is especially strong locally. Two DSP cars are ALWAYS in the top 5 of RAW, but only half of the time #1.
Otherwise, #1 goes to a pair of CM cars, a EM 914, F125, and CSP Miatae.
This year, I have a feeling that #1 RAW might fall a couple of times to a BP corvette driven by a 16-year-old....

I coned away FTD at a BRR event in my DS car....had to settle for I think it was second, maybe third :( But yeah, anthony's had a few in his DSP neon....lane in his sm2 c5...pretty much any car on r-comps who shows up can fight for ftd haha
