I pretty much think you're wrong. Unless you're talking about cars in the 50's and 60's, but that would just be plain irrelivent.

As must as I hate to admit it, I use my cupholder all the time. The one above the radio... it sucks, but the other position gets in the way of my shifting.

Germans are far too effiecient to indulge themselves in things like eating or drinking. They're like robots. That's why they dont have cup holders, instead the cars come with cages to put small children in.

Am I the only one that actually likes the cup holder on my 02? it can hold any drink from a fastfood restraunt without spillin it
| wrX-RTD | 05-15-2006 11:30 PM |
germans dont get thirsty while on the road? i would be super pissed if my car didnt have cup holders.
| Handsdown | 05-15-2006 11:42 PM |
i use it for cups that are too big for the ebrake cup holder. or if i have a passenger.
it sucks but when you need a cupholder it's there, and when you don't, it hides.

'06 wagon. I have 4 cupholders that I can reach while I'm driving. I usually stick both of my phones in the frontmost cup holder, my travel coffee mug right behind that, and flip down the rear cupholders and stick a couple of bottles of water there. The wife cannot reach the back 2 when she's driving, but then again, at 4'12"(I'm 6'3"), she has to run that seat just about as far forward as it can go. She has trouble reaching back for the shifter with the way those seat bolsters fit...

I thought it was a cool thread but it was worded wrong. Just say you wan't to see what people are putting in place of the cupholder in the pre 05 models. I never use that one because my I usually try and hide my drinking and driving. I keep it next to the shifter......jokes

Yeah, what a stupid place to put a cup holder. Hit a speed bump too slow, and you get beer all down your stereo.

BMWs and M-Bs come with cupholders these days, but even in the late 90's, the only cupholders available were add-ons that either stuck to the consoles with double-sided tape or clung to the HVAC vents.
Drinking and driving is illegal in Germany.. even O'Douls.

+ 1, no eating in my sober car. Water allowed, coffee for driver with lid on only.
I like the dash cup holder, but it is noisy when not in use. I use the dash one for water bottles and the middle on for latte. Some day I will have to drive an "old man car".

You act like there's more than one. I guess if you count that space next to the e-brake that's barely big enough to hold my house keys, then that brings the grand total up to two.
