Varis CF hood.

because the scoop is integrated into the hood--does the hood/scoop part sit lower than an oem hood ??
does it come with covers for the vents??
does it allow you to hook up your water sprayers??
love the car by the way--not to keen on the partially painted hood(maybe leave the part of the hood that leads up to the scoop unpainted would have looked better imo) but love the overall look of the car--you don't need a wing--a little limited lip or mines would look awesome on the trunk

Yes the scoop does not come up as high, plus it is a smaller scoop than the oem hood would have come with.
There are not covers for the hood vents, but if you look at the pictures i have the covers on underneath it to stop water from entering in this ****ty weather.
idk, i dont think a mines lip would would look good on the trunk and it would have to be CF cause the replicas fit like ish. I am considering a wing, although it looks clean without it imo.

tell me what u think about that idea...some ppl like it, some dont, but i think its better than ur current hood paint "no offense"
p.s. or u could do it vice versa, gold in the middle and cf on the outside with black housing headlights...whatever floats ur boat, just the the vents being cf and the rest of the hood painted tho just doesn't float well with me...once again my opinion only ;]

Idk i honestly dont like that very much. Oh and a reason for paint was there was cosmetic damage done to the hood that had to be repaired and painted over for it too look good.
I am very happy with how it came out and if i ever dont like it i can just paint the louvers. Plus once you paint CF i dont think there is any going back, and now way am i buying another hood.

does carbon fiber take paint very well? is it more prone to paint chips? i have an aspen white, and am thinking the carbon fiber hood painted would be sick. i would not paint the vents like you did!!! i likes...!!!

xbey...put it this way...the mclaren (3 seater) is a full carbon fiber body that gets painted...im not sure about the SL65 amg but i think its also carbon fiber body...and im pretty sure the new GT3 from Porsche is carbon fiber body as well...they all are painted and act the same as any other surface...someone correct me if im wrong but im 100% sure the mclaren is CF and about 90% sure the gt3 is...i could be wrong about the SL65

yes, paint ftw...well like i said, everyone has their own ideas...personally i wouldn't have painted it at all but u had some cosmetic damage so u did what u had to...u might as well paint the whole hood ;] just leave the hood scoop cf hehe...anyhow, have fun with it...thats all that matters
