thats a nice little setup you got.. but i think not having a clock there would annoy the crap out of me. looks like you need a good job

whats the pinout for power using the RJ11 (phone)cable?

It's what it comes with stock. Not sure why V1 did that except it gives you 2 power lines and a couple of communication lines so the main V1 unit can interface with the remote unit.

anyone who has done the visorclip to the headliner mount have any drill bit ideas???
For drilling the hole through the visorclip...
???
edit: got a unibit, titanium coated, hopefully that will get through

I drilled a hole in mine with a standard high speed steel drillbit. I punched a dimple into it first, so the bit wouldn't wander around, and used a little WD-40 to lube it. Most importantly I used a pair of vise grips to hold it in place, that thing is going to slice you up good if you try to hold it with your bare hand.

cool, thanks...yep - dimpled it first, also using a vice to hold it. Haven't tried WD-40 yet, will try that.
Thanks
Thanks

yea like they said dimple and pressure...
Oh and a question/comment, for those that have it setup high like mine, i think a combination of the black dots and the power lines for the multilink rear view are affecting the signal, when i drive by cops the rear detection seems like it detects farther than when approaching it... im thinking of a sort of bracket i can use to lower it a bit even though i sacrifice rear detection, i rather have better front detection than rear...
Has anyone else noticed this?

It is pretty easy.
Just open up the remote display.
Solder wire to each side of the 'grid' that is the button on the remote. And then to each end of the separate wires solder in a momentary switch that is 'Normally open'.
You need enough wire to get from the display to wear you want to mount the 'button'.
I got a small momentary switch and mounted it by the left side of the steering wheel that I could easily push while driving without being too obvious. (this is in my RX-7).
I will get around to it in the subaru and am thinking of putting the button by the 'coin' tray on the left (similar to my other car).
I used very thin wire, but am considering using 'telephone' wire to make it look cleaner. One wire versus 2 separate wires.

The two contacts on the right.
The 'grid' to the right of the number display does not actually make contact. Only when the button is pressed is there contact between the 2 parts of the circuit.
I just soldered wire to each of those 'dots' and then put a momentary switch, normally open, between the wires.
