D fresh 10-06-2006 05:07 AM

Could use some armrests, but other than that its pretty sweet.
fastwrx25 10-06-2006 05:28 AM

awesome. any pics of the underside?
needmoreboost 10-06-2006 09:50 AM

LOL - I got the seat with a small cigarette burn in it - so I decided rather then trying to sell it I would put this together

I am going to have some armrests done on it too

Pics of the underside will be up next week since I am leaving for the AKArally right now.

Thanks for the positive comments guys lol

+1 for this. the sti seat sucks for support as it is i could never imagine using it as a desk chair. Sweet idea though so +2 for being creative
MFR Sweep 10-06-2006 03:54 PM

The physics Ergonomics involved in driving and those with desk work are not as similar as you might think. I think the STI or even the WRX buckets would be comfortable day after day as long as the seat is attached to the base correctly.

fastwrx25 10-06-2006 05:40 PM

hook up a rear view mirror to it for kicks and giggles...
veightkiller 10-06-2006 06:46 PM

Nice!
TRooper 10-06-2006 07:14 PM

Did you do the resistor trick for the side airbags?
brodiemash 10-06-2006 07:19 PM

Wish we hod those at work. Nice!
iMP|2EZiONS 10-06-2006 07:22 PM

That's one of the coolest things I've seen in a while.
Thaddy 10-06-2006 08:06 PM

A while ago I saw a place that was selling computer chairs using the buckets from Corvette's. I remember them being $200...
shemoves 10-06-2006 08:10 PM

AND...you should wire up a 'big red button' so when someone comes over to your desk and starts 'lookin'-over-the-shoulder' you push it and WHACK! goes the side airbag.
JRSC13 10-06-2006 08:55 PM

your a bi--- for teasing us for something we all want but can't have!
arfrce 10-06-2006 11:58 PM

You can have one. You can get one from Racaro, Corbeau, Bride. Just log onto yahoo and search for racing computer chairs. I think it is corbeau that sells the bottoms parts of the chairs, and everything else to hook up your own chair. Or you can buy it as a kit. They are cool though. I would like to have the ultra thin, Porsche, Skyline, Bride seats. Those would be light enough to take turns, jumps, passengers. LOL
chris-man 10-07-2006 01:22 PM

thats awesome :D
Jonnyfilmboy 10-07-2006 03:20 PM

You'll probably still never be able to lower it enough. Just like in the car.

hahaha amen to that!

All you other nasioc type people... please DO NOT read deeper into this about ergonomics and what not. This was a spur of the moment idea.
Farnk 10-09-2006 02:12 AM

My friend did that with an srt4 chair bout a year ago...:(

I want both
InfamousDX 10-11-2006 01:01 AM

I told him to be a true pimp and put a Recaro or Bride seat on there
Vew 10-11-2006 01:10 AM

What? No working airbags?
InfamousDX 10-11-2006 01:12 AM

Airbags are still in tact... if we have a spare subaru battery we'll mount it under the chair and toss in a switch in case we feel like having fun, lol.
007WRX 10-11-2006 02:07 AM
where are the airbags in the seat i r dumb
They are on the outer shoulder bolster of the seat.
and remove the seat belt clip.... unless you are scared to fall out, lol
Not scared enough to put a 6 point harness but scared enough to keep the stock seat belt clip! Nah but we forgot for hte pic... I actually need that clip so thanks for reminding me!
arfrce 10-12-2006 11:17 PM

Too whom it may concern. But I know you can buy the bases (computer chair) by them selves out of any office furnature guide, or you could contact any local walmart for a cheap chaor with the base attached. So there is the base. Now contact these guys http://www.jdmpartstx.com for a seat. I am sure they have one since they import stuff all the time. have fun hope it helps.

InfamousDX 10-13-2006 11:40 AM

What better way to use wide assed usdm sti seats?! Maybe we'll do another one and have seat races down the hill
littlewhitewagon 10-13-2006 12:42 PM

Can we get a video of when the airbag is activated? I want to see how far the person in the seat will fly...put the airbag side against a strong wall...
armyssoldierboy 10-13-2006 03:22 PM

needmoreboost 10-14-2006 08:36 PM

I am still looking for a good set of armrests too
iri_tuan 10-15-2006 03:18 AM
