Great find ... That should provide hours of amusement ... Thanks ... Always amazing to me in rallying how many absolutely moronic spectators there are ... What, do they all get together, say ... "Hmmm, think I'd like to get seriously mangled or killed today" ... "Lets all go find the highest speed corner, and stand on the outside of it" ... ... Oh well, to each their own ...
| TimStevens | 12-09-2004 10:24 AM |
Better yet, let's put our tent on the outside of it

We don't know what the approach looked like and the first objective of stage rallying or any racing for that matter is to finish the race, second to finish well, third to impress.

the approach is pretty flat and 5th gear.
my objective is to land on the flat (bottom) sideways into medium left.

I was wondering that too when I saw that. I was kinda hoping the car was actually coming up from the left onto the road, rather than wildly swinging around a corner with the rear-end hanging off the road... but it's hard tot ell.

you're correct, but everyone slows down, unless you want to demolish your car. This jump is in Australia.

That a classic Reinhard Klein shot from 86 Acropolis. He has a few that are a little too close for comfort but that one is reasonably tame. Check out this photographer...

Ah that's not so bad, the car is traveling sideways, not at him. Also this shot is with a long lens which compresses the image and makes it look a little closer than it really is, though it is still fairly close ;)
