I went in to wal mart yesterday to get one of those extendable magnet things......they didn't have any. When I went out to my car I find a not stick to the driver's side window. It was on one of theose personalized post-it notes.

I used to like the Prodrive spoiler, but now have grown to appreciate a spoilerless trunk. But in the end, that's really not the issue. It's that you got dissed by a girl.

Thanks for the positive (and not-so-positive) comments, guys. I like my spoiler, it is genuine prodrive, not the wings west knockoff. I think it is very different (knida like the WRX itself), which is what I like about it. haven't seen another one around like it.

I hella love that spoiler! I think that's the best spoiler for the WRX out of all of them. I'm not hating, but I'm getting kinda sick of the rally style spoilers. Think it's a bit overdone with the WRX but of course, I ain't complaining. Still love them all!
Anyways, I plan on getting the same one with the UK 300 lip on my WRX just in silver. I can't really tell but it might look like you do have the lip as well. After all, the lip is very small so kinda hard to see on a black WRX.

The best spoiler is the very rare, made in Japan WRC replica wing which sits over thw trunk by 3 inches and Prodrive tested in a F1 wind tunnel in the UK. It makes over 400lbs of downforce at above 80 mph !! To paint a picture,..the rear wings on Porsche 911 GT3-RS makes 375 lbs at 140 mph. The reason the WRC wings makes such great DF is its extended 3 inches over the rear of the trunk, this puts it farther back in the airflow making the car "feel" longer. Its the oldest Aerodynamic trick in motorsports. Go back and look at all the great LeMans cars of the 80,90s and current,..the rear wing hangs over the back of the car by like 3-4 feet !!
So,.having had said that,...IT IS MY OPINION,.... that the WRC wing and replica wing( not the PRODRIVE STI "style" wing) but the real deal,...is the best wing for a WRX . Personally, I like the Shine Street spoiler (looks like the stock wing, but slightly taller and hangs of the back a bit). I don't remember if it was wind tunnel tested or not, but it looks good.:cool:

So the whole "wing thing" is more than just looks,......................just watch out for the guys who buy some Pep Boys stuff and just try to wing-it !!

Well hey, where would I get one of those "genuine replica" wings? I've seen a few WRC replica wings around....what is the right one? Wouldn't 400 lbs of downforce mess up your trunk?

Who has not gone 80 in there car? So you did utilize your wing, it might not be the WRC wing but I bet it still gives you some amount of down force at 80. :rolleyes:

I've received a note like that, I have a Ver. 5 wing on my RS... I don't care that they don't like it, but don't DARE set hands on my car to voice your opinion. What if I don't like the washer LED's on your mom's Grand Am you putz around in?? I'm not going to leave you a note! I wish I could haev caught the prick in the act of leaving the note. This thread started out kinda humorous that thrdeye got dissed by a chick. Then people got defensive even though there are more that dislike it than do. It amazes me how some threads never die- like this one. I mean, so some girl didn't like it and thought it would be funny to write the note. Looks like she won since you're so offended by it. She got the reaction she wanted. If you like it, then you should be able to blow this off as some silly person. It seems like you, thrdeye, are more interested in the thoughts of some random girl and need the support of fellow Subaru enthusiasts. It was said in the beginning that it's a love it or hate it wing, yet people won't stand for somebody hating it. To me, it's OK. Not great, and not my favorite, but it's OK. just because it is Prodrive doesn't make it look good. Just calm down everybody! Lovers AND haters.
Oh, and I'm still eager to see it with the GC06's on.:)
