Are ECU mods allowed in STX? part 2

Well, I'll give you that much about not seeing the others map, BUT I still want to see what a protest shed will do once faced with a protest like this. So, we'll be the guinea pigs, how about it? And at what point will boost be deemed illegal? And what documentation will detail the max boost level of a WRX with my exact mods? I'm really playing devil's advocate here, because I believe it needs to be settled once and for all what the protest shed will do once its in their lap. We will see...

Deal. You protest my car, I protest your car ;)

I'd love to see the fallout

Btw, I may not end up with Ecutek anyways either...so, what then?

oh god.... not this topic again...
 :p

You could use the XEDE and disable the boost control by pulling the wire from the harness. Neat and simple solution to the STX boost control issue.

If I had kept the WRX, it was my next mod before getting headers.

Without getting into the legality of COBB's stx map, there is an easy way to eliminate the dual map feature of the accessport.

All you would have to do is flash your ecu with the stx map as your base map and delete the "real time" maps. You would then only have one map available and any controversy about switching maps in the pits could be avoided.

Tom,
Then again we could always go with TyrannoSullyRex's idea and then we'd just have to protest your car and not even have to worry about mine. :D

 Somehow I fail to see that happening ;)

I'm serious about the dual protest though.....

I'll just let you two battle it out, while I slip under the radar with my super-secret "boost enhancement & NOS Activation" switch!

You know, each accessport is keyed to that vehicles ECU. Why not install the STX map in the presence of a steward and then hand over your port until the end of the event.
Allow me to chime in here about this. You can name your map whatever you want with your computer before you load it into the AccessPORT, so if you named your Stage 2 map "STX 93 Octane", who would know? Just another thing to consider.

what's it's named isn't the point, it can still be DeltaDashed to find out boost levels.

He was saying that you are removing the ability to switch maps, which is a point of contention regarding the Accessport.

You are right, and my point was that exactly, what the map is named is irrelevant since it can be named whatever you want. I was just pointing out that having a steward watch you load the map then take the AccessPORT would do nothing to insure no cheating was happening (and I should have added) if no DeltaDashing was going on. :) I could definitely have made myself clearer.
