I think it looks good- sort of a Spec C kinda thing. You should add the roof vent! :D
Do JDM '03 Spec C's have black door handles? If so, you should do that too.
That's a wild front spoiler...
Looks badass!

Man that Chargespeed kit makes me want to convert my 02 to an 04 front end. Why can't Chargespeed make a kit for the 02-03 body style?

You're planning to buy some $2K+ Advans, and then powdercoat them? That'll be expensive, and the finish will not be as good.

LOL, that's EXACTLY what I want to do with my white '04 rex. I had even considered photoshopping that Chargespeed pic myself. The white car, the black wheels, and you even took the center bar out of the grille. I would rather have black Advan Model 6s (I know, I'd have to p-coat as well), and maybe some CF parts (trunk, rear Do Luck Wing, Hood, diffuser). When you get the real car finished, post some pics.

Dizzle: Do I need the radiator support for the conversion?
Roswellj07: Those headlights are the STI OEM, but removed the orange plastics?
I was planning on getting the JDM headlights that sells for about $600 without the HID kit, but those are not HID reflectors. I guess I'll end buying the STi ones and removing the orange plastics.

JDM headlights don't have the amber plastic pieces inside of them. They use amber colored light bulbs that you can swap out with clear ones.

I know, but supposedly the JDM headlights that Vivid Racing sells, doesn't have HID reflectors... they are just reflectors.
That's why I ask if he (Roswell) modified his lights.

Julio. Right, there are the regular JDM lights, and then there are the JDM HIDs. However, there are no amber plastic pieces in either one of them. I was just trying to clarify that difference between the USDM lights and the JDM ones.
| Julio | 12-19-2003 01:50 PM |
OK - Thanks for clarifying. Would be great to find the JDM HIDs!
| D-I-Z-Z-L-E | 12-19-2003 02:04 PM |
i have teh JDM hid's :) and you have to have a new core support for the conversion. and a new bumper beam
| Julio | 12-19-2003 02:09 PM |
Dizzle: Can you PM where I can source them? Core support? You mean radiator support? I guess the USDM STi one works ok?
The bumper beam is because the fog lights right? Which in my case I wouldn't need? BTW I have an APS DR650 fmic. which has its own bumper beam.
If I need them regardless, please let me know. I need to source them.

i dont know if the dr560 bumperbeam will have the right clip pattern or location. thats why i got the stock one and cut it to fit my hyperflow intercooler. everything else i got from the dealer. except the headlights i will post up later what all it is and im working on a part number list

Julio, you should be able to buy the JDM HIDs from Gruppe-S. I think they were going for around $700 to $750.
| Julio | 12-20-2003 08:09 AM |
imminence - Thanks for the tip. That's great, since I sent them a money order for some other items. I'll ask Max abou them.
Dizzle: I was taking a closer look Yesterday night while I was taking my fenders and front bumper and noticed about the core support. It will have to be desoldered and the new one soldered in place. Hope that work gets done OK.

yeah the core support is spot welded in. and the new core support comes in about 5 pieces that need to be spot welded together and then spot welded into the frame. some welds will have to be regular welds and due not spot welds .

Called this morning my body shop and talked about the conversion. The guy has a doubt about fitment. Maybe you could help since you have done it already.
He wants to know if the "rail to rail" measures from STi and WRX are different - He mentioned something about compact aperture. That maybe the STi is wider and once he tries to put in the core support, that it will not fit.
Is there anything at all that needs to be done? modification, etc? I need to know before giving him the OK. He says that once he order the parts, if it can't be done I still have to pay for the parts.
I will appreciate if you could let me know as much details as possible. You can e-mail me atL [emailprotected]
