rankink - No doubt...your opinions are yes indeed just as valid as mine. You have just as much right to an opinion as I do and everyone else on this forum. And yes, I might not know how much discrimination you have faced in your life. For me to assume as if I knew you would be foolish on my part.
I will say IN GENERAL (which may exclude you and thousands of other people but still includes a large chunk of the millions of people that live in this country) a non-minority (majority?) does not have proper validation to say comments like "lighten up" to minorities. They don't have to be me. They are accepted by the majority of the population. When I walk into a diner in the middle of no where, why does everyone look at me like I'm the black plague?
It's like teaching a math class with an English degree. It's like being a doctor without going to med school. You can't know discrimination unless you've experienced it. You can speak from observation but not from genuine "experience".
Anyway, my apologies rankink, don't mean to say your opinions aren't important. It's wrong for me to assume anything. I don't know you. And I think you are right, it is hispanic. I wasn't sure.

:D
Hahaha...okay. Cars. Right.
So here's my take on mods to my car.
The WRX is fast. Why make it faster off the bat. I'd rather make it look good before I start adding mods to make my car faster. I mean...if I had the money to do it all at once, hell...why not. But if I live from paycheck to paycheck, I'd rather have a nice system, tint the windows, buy some rims and tires first. Then work on ground effects.
I mean, geesh, how many cars out there STOCK can take on a WRX in the same price range? Are there any? How many cars out there with a few mods can take on a stock WRX in the same price range? I used to drive an SUV so the WRX feels like a porsche to me.

Don't worry about it...
hey Pak,
By the way, if I may ask... What race would you classify your self as, not that it matters. Just curious.. And try walking into a cuban diner in little Havana, Miami being the only "blonde white boy" in there that speaks English. I know those stares. Or stopping for breakfast in the middle of backwoods Alabama getting the same stares too. A lot of it is the fear of the unknown for people or change. And then a lot of it is society shaping peoples way of thinking, rather than people not thinking for themselves.
Anyway, on to the car discussion. May I just say how much I love my WRX...

My approach
Pakman,
My approach would be rims and tires first, but I race SCCA stock class. So, I am kinda holding off on that. Done the tints, custom speakers, and a few small asthetic additions, but keeping it primarily stock for racing. At least until the warranty is up because of the problems getting work done. Which is first hand experience with me. My next big deal will be rims and tires though, but after that it all goes towards making it a snake eating (Cobras & vipers) beast. It can never be fast enough truly.

Maybe I'm retarded but after I bought my WRX, I noticed a bond with other WRX owners. I'd always get these people who pulled up to me and asked me how much I liked my car...and then they would tell me how much they love theres. I feel like family. :p
I love my WRX too. Redesigned or not...it's a great car.
What race am I?
I like to say American because, heck...I was born here. Born in Virginia, now living in Washington. But my ethnic background is Korean.
As far as mods go, I went to that one website earlier in either this thread or in a similar thread about what is considered "rice". I would have to say most of the people on this forum would fall in that category. Check the list out... http://www.goingfaster.com/spo/you_might_be_a_ricer_if.html
Honestly, I could care less if people don't like my car. I have to drive it and if I want it to look a certain way, I'm happy.
I still haven't found rims that I like, but that would be a different forum to discuss. I did find one, but they are so cheap, I'm afraid they might not be good quality. I was actually thinking of stiffening my car up a little with some strut bars and/or sway bars. for looks, I've already tinted my windows and I had a system but it's defective so I have to send it back for repairs. I want to get a fuba powered antenna but I'm afraid to drill into my car.
rankink, how do you get involved in stock wrx racing with the scca? you gotta get trained for stuff like that?

Well, in the spirit of the dress up and style forum, this question has been answered and has been debated for far too long. This is dress up and style, so lets keep our threads on topic. :)
If you wish to continue the debate, I suggest someone start a thread in off topic.
Have a nice day!
