Definitely one of my favorite front lip.s
I have it but took it off, I have tein lowering springs and with that lip, the car is annoying to drive. I have having to worry too much about clearing driveways and stuff so I took it off to be able to enjoy driving the car.

Heh, Im hanging on to it for now.
The springs are supposed to lower it 1.2f/0.8r inch from their website. I didn't do a b4 and after so thats the best I got.
Actually im wondering how much lower the greddy is inr espects to the STi ones too. Cause I might want to get those if they are not as low.
All I know is that with the TEIN springs and the greddy lip, I have about 4" of clearance. A friend of mine has the same TEIN springs, and no front lip and he has about 7" of clearance, so I guess the greddy lowers it about 3". Anyone have info on the STi v.1 and v.2?

i want that v2 where can i get that lip and not get raped on the price? is it urethane and is it close to the cost of the greddy?

M3sum:
As far as the V2 lip goes, I'd say it about 1.5 inches lower than the OE bumper.
TXBlueBeast, sochico:
I purchased the lip through Grouppe-S (a vendor here on I-club) for 495 shipped (but since I live in CA I had to pay the 8.25% tax, $40). It is made of fiberglass, comes pre-painted, and in 2 pieces (split down the middle).
I bought this piece for a couple of reasons:
STI does 1:1 windtunnel testing on their aero parts. It's been mentioned on I-club that an STI lip and carbon wing help to reduce drag by almost .01.
It's pre-painted
Bolts and tapes right on with no drilling. Took me 15 minutes to install.
One thing I don't care for is that gap down the middle of the kit. I feel it cheapens the lip with the extra line.

Sorry for the crappy picture.
I think the 1.5 inches lowering the front is right on the mark.

Mine was black... no glass slivers... lightweight and pliable... came in 2 pieces that attach in the middle with the laminated STi badge covering the brass screw that goes in front.
Same material as under the rear bumper.
Mine couldn't weigh more than 4-6 lbs total for the whole front lip.
IMO best looking lip out there for our cars... your pictures definitely reminds me I really have to lower my ride next.

WOW. I kinda feel ripped but I'm assuming that the current lower prices may reflect the material useage. Mine weighed in at 4 pounds and inluded all the same parts (I assume):
Brass screw at front
Brass screw and nut for the back
STI badge (aluminum w/gel coat)
all OE mounts/pegs: 2 side, 5 underneath

RIGHT! That language barrier scared me a bit.
With all the pieces I was worried if I should tape and mount one side at a time or piece it together then put it on.
Common sense said put it together first. Tape the center down then the sides.

That is what I did as well... put it together started at the front and worked my way out on each side... with the tape on the sides being my last stop... OEM stuff is so nice... all the holes line up (even the holes you didn't know you had until you need them).
... at the moment I'm thinking... did I overlook tape in the front center... I remember the strips on the side... but not the front... damn.  I have to check now.

A V1 lip is available in CF through a company called Mashaw.
It has no vents and is not a genuine STI product. I've heard of fitment problems with this piece as well.
Try a search. I know there are pictures of it on I-club.

I just installed my v2 STI lip last night (bought from SubyDude) and it is definately ABS. I made the mistake (as usual) of working from the corners to the middle so I had to restick the middle part down because I had a little gap. The STI lip looks great with the only downside being the split in the center. But you get a nice little STI badge to impress the nOObs:lol: .

on the V2 STi lips can they be removed without the adhesive messing up the OEM finish?
| iceNine | 10-01-2002 06:30 PM |
I think that just like the badges on the trunk, if you apply a little heat with a hairdrier or some 3M Adhesive remover (made for cleaning up a car before painting) it should come off with no trouble. I was able to pull mine off a little to reposition because the tape was only stuck on for 2-3 minutes. After it ages a little it may be more difficult to remove.

So,
Do any of the STi v2 lips come without the split in the center, or is that something everyone just deals with?

They all have the split in the middle... the upside is your shipping charges for the lip just became greatly reduced over one piece lips. It is not really that noticable unless you are the type that obsesses over things like why the the painted sides don't have gaskets, but the strakes do and things of that sort... it looks great (to me on my car.... but your mileage may vary :-) ).

Yes, Kaminari offers the full 1 piece and a 2 piece splitter.
They both retail for $295.00
The Front lip retails for $395.00 if you contact them, they can give you a Distributor that should give you a better price.

Sorry it took so long to reply... I lost track of the thread... I think you are 100% correct... mine has gaskets too... don't know why I didn't notice them.
