I hate the long break in Wellsboro. Talk about totally losing momentum.
Ed, who's servicing for you guys, Nui?

Yes, Nui Motorsports will be the service crew I believe.
No, Robby has never rallied before but he lives down in NM and
goes offoading in the clay near the local indian res. quite a bit.
Yeah I hate the long break. I hate the overall schedule at STPR.
For some reason it just doesn't seem to work. Too late at night
and too late the next day to start, too much break, too little a
town. FAST roads. ;)
Weather looks like it could be "interesting" again this year.
Look forward to seeing you kick our butts there, Doug.

Heh. I'll be happy to finish, and even happier if you boyz don't beat me by more than a few minutes. What exactly do you mean by wierd weather? I'm not sure which I like less, dust or mud. On super fast roads, I think I'd take the dust because when "it" happens in the mud with so many trees there's not a lot of room for a good outcome. Time to fire up weather.com I guess, not that it matters (it is what it is).

P.S. - It's now official, we'll have our new combination motorhome/service rig at STPR. It's bright friggin' yellow to match the race car (#88 Subaru WRX). Y'all stop by and say hello!

Oh... You haven't run at STPR I had forgotten that!
STPR is hard packed clay. _Insanely_ fast in the dry. But when it gets wet it's like driving on ICE with mud under it.
Service vehicles
can sink into the ground at a couple of the service areas if
its wet, so tell the crew to be careful where they park.
Every rainy year a coulple get stuck. ;)
Tons and tons of hairpins especially on SS3,
HUGE water crossing at the end of SS1 (bring the car snorkel!) etc, etc.

No Kidding  I'm 6' tall and the water was up to my knees in spots last year. BTW how deep does it have to get for them to cancel the stage? I live 2 hours SE of wellsboro in PA and we have gotten a ton of rain recently. Most of the streams are still raging waterways right now.

Good question. It was claimed it was 12" last year (HA! came in the damn windows!) and they didn't. Year before I think it was
canceled about 2 ft.

Be careful on those hairpins. Sometimes it's better to take them a little easy rather than do the big flick.

No, that was 1997 or 8. Amazingly enough, Paul drove out of that. It took him a few minutes, and he needed some pushing when he high centered on the way up.

Yay! Thanks to some last-minute shenanegins, I will be driving out to STPR with Jerry Winker. He says 16 hours of driving. All I know is that I love a good road trip.

Hope you don't mind me asking, Do the drivers or co-drivers get any course maps or information prior to the race weekend? Someone on this forum is saying there will be a lot of changes in the course this year (I doubt that however).

Drivers and Codrivers are not supposed to get any information about the route prior to the event. However, there are any number of people who do see this information in advance.
Ojibwe has different routes on the same set of roads every year.

I may be going. Depends on how many others at work are planning on calling in sick Friday. I haven't been there for quite a few years. Are their spectator routes any good or should I just use my Delorme map book? In the past I have stayed away from spectator areas & just found a nice acute to watch from the hillside. I sure hope the people who were in charge of spectating at Cherokee this year have nothing to do with STPR this year.
