Back in the day (the 80s), Front 242 (the main artist of the video) used to be considered EBM (or Electronic Body Music). It was supposed to be a mix between disco/dance and synth-pop.
As time progressed, the word electronica was coined and it represented a style of music that was very similar to the style that Front 242 was starting to record (at the time).
So, um... lets just go with techno or electronica. They really span quite a bit of the sub-genres so I can't really get more specific then that.

Yes, its Front 242 from the Speed Tribe DVD/cd.
I use Pinnacle Edition DV 5 for my editing. I'm still learning all that this thing can do, even after having it for almost a year.

I've been a Petter fan since he started out with Ford (was about the only reason I liked Ford at the time) So when he switched to Subaru, I was :banana:
I thought the ending finished off the 'drama' effect I tried to have throughout the video, with the stills laced over the video with the credits.

That was the idea I was going for. Its gotten so easy to put some vid clips to music, I wanted to try to convey an emotion through the vid and music to make people feel something as they watched it.
I think I succeded. :D :cool:

Well, I meant it more in a sense that it seems like every day someone comes out with [I]another[/I] WRC vid with random video clips and music playing in the background.
My first video (Finland 2002) was pretty much that, just some random clips put to music. I even crudely tried to sync it to the music.
I think its gotten to the point that you have to REALLY try to do new things to get your videos noticed.
I know with my Germany 2002 vid, that was the first one I felt I really nailed the syncronization to the music. With the Argentina 2003 vid, I finally fully integrated the original audio from the cars and co-drivers. And that video was really popular.
Finland 2003 was just spot on. I think that was just a good music pick and right amount of editing.
With the WalesRallyGB vid, I wanted to go back to square one and try something new. I wanted to envoke some emotion out of watching the vid. Actually get the viewer to feel that there was something really special happening there (solberg winning)
Also I didn't just want a cut and dry music vid, I wanted to chop it up with commentary, visuals, and other tid bits. In the end it ended up being a short movie.
And I still watch it 3-4 times a day. :)
