Hehe, love to bring this post back from the dead but I had the exact black housing taillights (they are actually a low gloss black) on my WRB 03 WRX and I got plenty of comments on those lights and the black/blue theme (with my blacked out headlights) really looked nice. All in my opinion though.

do they make those for 05 wrx? pix?
i think if you are gonna hack up your tails or paint them or anything else as creative then these would be a cheaper less guilt alternative.
some custom LED tails tastefully done would be nice (a la G35 coupe)
nothing some plastic weld and a soldering knife couldnt do

I REALLY like that look. I have had my TYC black housing taillights on my WRB WRX Sedan since I bought it. I recently had to remove some moisture from one of em because I didnt tighten the taillights enough (water passed the seal). So I had my stockers back on for a day. They just looked so huge and hideous that I couldn't wait to get the tyc's back on. LED lights really give it effect during day and night. For all of you saying its rice, is just a bunch of ranting. If someone likes it so be it. Oh, a WRX isn't a euro. Well, its a japanese car so we shouldnt even be driving it here in america. Gimme a break. To each his own. I have the koji blackout mod done to my headlights, the black tyc taillights go great with em, and I have a set of black with polished lip ASA's coming soon to give that black/blue theme. You all can talk about rice and what not. But I am glad that my car doesn't look like yours. I do agree though that the chrome and carbon fiber ones look hideous.

To the guy that used these? How was your fit? When I first got my car I got the smoked ones of those and the quality and fit was horrible. Moisture within a week and the screws in the back went in crooked so the nuts werent even flush against the rear. Just wanted your take on it because my TYC's are OEM quality. Two winters and still going strong.
