Zach flaps..
So who has received them? I got mine on Wednesday and I'm up in Canada! [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif[/img] What do you guyz think about them?
If you follow the link: http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/Forum2/HTML/002307-2.html
you will see on the posting on October 3rd, that he did say that he would provide all of the hardware. I took it to mean that the bracket would be included as well.
Zach did say a few days later that minor drilling was required, but I did not think that the minor drilling would mean that I would have to drill my own holes in the flaps and to drill holes in a bracket that I have to make!
I'm disapointed because because the flaps were not pre-drilled and it did not come with mounting brackets. [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/mad.gif[/img] Did you get what you expected?
LaterZ!
Darren!!
ps -- yes, I did delete my earlier post.
pss -- please don't turn this into a flame war either a-la JCSports!

Yes I was dissapointed, but Zach sent me an e-mail explaining. I'm looking to make my own brackets and get these on soon. I guess for future items that Zach elects to sell he should specifically outline all the parts that will be included before he takes our $$$.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I am going to go to the machine shop that cut them for me today and make a bracket design for the rears out of either aluminnum or steel. He should be able to cut them pretty quickly. They will still not have the holes in them for the reason that I have specified in my letter to you guys. I did that on request of a few prople that would like their flaps to stick out of the fender well farther, or if they would like them to be in closer to the fender. I have reasons for all of the modifications I have done to the flaps, and I regret not notifying eveyone of them. This is my first time producing a large number of products, so there was many lessons learned. It was basicly a big trial and error and a juggling match to boot. If you guys have any more questions feel free to ask, I am open and a little critical analysis is good.....no one is perfect. [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif[/img]

Zach -- I applaud your efforts to make things right!
This time, at least you are clear on what you are providing (ie you stated that you aren't drilling any holes). Just make sure that both sides of the bracket attach to the car.
But what about the fronts?

Hello,
I received mine 2 days ago, and I was definately expecting brackets. I'm glad to hear Zack is taking responsibility and taking steps to resolve the issue. However, Zack you may just want to get a quote for making the brackets first, and a time frame for delivery.
Then check with everyone in the GB to see what the consensus is. I imagine some people may want to fabricate their own brackets so they can get them on their cars and not have to wait any longer.
Those people might be more interested in a partial refund to cover the cost of the brackets. If you go out and make everyone brackets now, it could be another waste of money and effort. Though, I would imagine that you will need to make brackets for the remaining sets that you still need to sell.
That is my thoughts on the issue.

I have confirmed again that the flaps do not need the mounting brackets to be mounted. There are many people that I sold them to locally that already have them on their cars, and did not use brackets. However, I am willing to make the brackets for anyone who would like them. All they are is a piece of metal that is one and a half inches wide that goes in-between the flaps and the car, there is reall no reason for them. Just let me know if you would like a set.
Thank You,
zach

I didn't get in on this mudflap buy but here's my take on the brackets...
You will need them because if you run with out them the weight of the flap will pull the screw through the flap material. and the flap will rip. The brackets are there for that reason.

In the meantime I am mounting the flaps anyway (already got the rears mounted and I'm doing the fronts today), but I definitely want a set of brackets when you get them made.

The story on the brackets is that the flaps will still mount without them with no trouble. everyone is telling me now that the brackets are necessary so the hardware will not pull through the flaps. That is why I included washers. I have a set of mudflaps made from the same material (but made by Chevy) on my Blazer. They have been on there since 1990 and there is no sign of the hardware even beginning to pull through. And I use it for 4 wheeling only. So I would gather that these flaps will hold up the same. If you would still like a set of the brackets let me know.

Unless the flaps weighs 10lbs each [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif[/img] there is no need for brackets Most flaps weigh under a pound each. Besides what would rather have happen in the event that the flap gets caught on something big & heavy, flap rips off or body panels get twisted.

Dante,
I believe the point to be made here is, that everyone paid for STi Replica Mud Flaps as designed by North Ursalia and on display at his site. The issue is not, whether or not brackers are needed in your opinion, or anyone's opinion. It is that they are included with genuine STi Mud Flaps, and the were included in the STi Replica Mud Flaps design that North Ursalia created. Zach then posted that he gained authorization from North Ursalia to sell mud flaps using that design. Every customer in the group buy paid $100 to get everything which was included in the STi Replica Mud Flaps design. Everyone did not get what they paid for!

Yes and as I had said in earlier posts.. I would like a set of brackets. Zach you have said you made some the other day. Can you please priority mail them to me so I can get them before this weekend??
Thanks -
P.S. all are good points, may not be needed, but the brackets were expected and I would prefer to have them on. Subaru very rarely does things like this w/o a reason. They use the brackets for some reason.

I would like a set of all 4 brackets as well, and I did not receive the red STi stickers I asked for in my package.
| omahasubaru | 11-14-2000 06:59 AM |
He stated in his sale that an order form for decals would come with the flaps... although the form wasn't there... decals weren't included in this package they will cost extra.
I can get you some red STi decals if you want them, but I don't want everyone to be PMing posting here me for some. If you're interested e-mail me and I'll look into pricing once I have an idea of what everyone wants.. I need to know color and rough size.

Nope... Zach has dissappeard from the board!
PUNK!!! He made his killing since he didn't have to make any brackets and is now off probablly buying a Turbo or doing a WRX conversion or something.
I'm gettin some brackets made by a friend of mine, should get them this week.
I doubt Zach will ever come back, too bad though, 'cause he owes us all some brackets.

I sort of got the shaft when I got the Primm flaps. It wasn't anything wrong with Dante (I'd buy again from him); I didn't read the discription close enough to see that they were just 1/16" hdpe not urethane. Oh well, live and learn...

I actually have 2 questions,
1) I have these flaps but I am very unsure about mounting them. I want to mount them in the standard/stock place. But where should I be drilling holes in the flaps and where exactly are they mounted on the car (i.e. what do I have to do?). I was very disappointed by the lack of directions.
2) I am interested in some mounting brackets. I sent you a PM omahasubaru. I don't have the time to make them myself but will if I can't get them through other means. Has someone made up brackets? if so would they sell me enough for my car or send me the design so I can make them if I ever have a free moment.
thanks,
chris

He lives!!!!! I see Zach is now selling these flaps on eBay at a starting bid of $40.
He owes us all some brackets still or at least an apolpgy!
He dissappears from the I-club, but still sells these. At least now w/o brackets his prices are more accurate!
Just thought others would like to know this.

Seams you are quite talk-a-tive and willing to take money for the mudflaps but are quite unwilling to communicate once you've been paid. I have only asked you to let me know when you expect to get them to me.
I have sent you emails for 2 weeks now and all have gone un-answered.
I believe you are a fraud and I am cancelling my purchase through Visa.
DO NOT BUY FROM ZACH JAMSAY!!!!!

I called the phone #. It is his Grandparents. When she answered and I asked for him, she indicated that "He was not there right now,..." This almost indicates to me that he possibly lives there.
I indicated that I sent him money and that he has not contacted me or sent me the items, and that I wanted to talk to him becuase he has done this to other people, and that I did not want to see this happen to me.
Grandma was quite surprised that this is going on, and was sure that I was mistaken, and that if I made a deal with her grandson, that she was sure he would get my stuff out to me. But she took my name and phone# and assured me that he would take care of it.
BTW guys I tried the yahoo e-mail but apparently he does not use it anymore. I continually try the AOL e-mail, but I get the same response that most of you guys get.
So I did a search. I looked through EVERY "Zach" listed under AOL that lives in the state of Colorado. No matches. SO I did another search. I looked at every post that he has posted on the I-club (that it would give me). He has a friend and I have his first and last name, I will be looking him up next.

Anyone have any good viruses floating around? hhhmmm?
I did the exact same thing you did Chosen, I went through all of his posts and am getting real close...like a "profiler" does...so close that I now know what kind of fast food he eats. [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]
He messed with a bunch of "Fire Ants at a B-B-Q" is what he did![img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/mad.gif[/img]

Appearently he is selling this stuff on his web site and representing JC SPORTS, INC.
So...I sent JC a little letter:
"Dear JC Sports, Inc.
There is a person named Zach Jamsay , phone 303-428-4026 living at 7031 Clay St, in Westminster, Colorado, with the website http://www.thirteentek.homestead.com/index.html pretending to sell JC SPORTS products.
I recently came across this person through the I-club message board and he represented himself as selling STi replica mudflaps and Strut Tower Bars by JC Sports, Inc. I sent him money for the items and he never sent them and will not return emails or phone messages. I have found out through research that I was not the first person that he has scammed. There is a thread on the i-club in the "Dress-up/Style" forum with several names of members that have been jipped out of time and money under a false pretense. I am filing a report with the Westminster Police.
He is also selling these through e-bay and not following through on the deals.
I am sure that this is not a practice of JC SPORTS, Inc. and felt you should be aware of this individual."

Just as well you got nothing. I was disappointed by what I spent $100 for - I got much better mud flaps from AutoZone for $10.

I have more.
If you go to his car link on his site, you can see his plate on his car. Once I get home with my Photoshop, I will be enhanceing it and going to the DMV I don't care what it costs, I will get more info.
Brian. I'm so sorry he did this to you. He took something very cool of YOURS and made it very ugly.
But he will pay. Oh yes he will.

I got your message today, I sent the flaps on the 20th of Feb, they should
have been there a long time ago, I just received your emails (been out of
town and away from AOL) If you do not receive your flaps by tomarrow, email
me and I will ship another set out to you, so if you receive 2, please write
return to sender and put it back in the mail for me. Sorry about the
inconvenience.

I am not going to rock the boat with him yet. Once I have the flaps, I will contact him again and ask if he would like me to ship the extra set (if they exist) to TeamSUSBARU . [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]
But it quite amazing that he contacts me after I talked to grandma...

Ok I just had to chime in....if you look at his web site, look at his counter on the homepage, it says "you are victim number" Ok It thought that was just a little funny, hope everything works out for you guys. 'Cause once TeamSubaru get's mad [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif[/img]
| TeamSUBARU | 03-03-2001 09:56 AM |
He still hasn't sent me an email back. I am gonna call granny as well then!

<FONT face="Comic Sans MS">I've been played too here, but I'd like to chime in as the voice of reason.... what has been happening here ("I'll call grandma," "I've got one of his friends numbers," "I've got his plate number," "I don't care what it costs, I will get more info") is borderline illegal- harassment and/or stalking. You all might want to watch what you post to a VERY PUBLIC forum, and watch what you do. Don't need any of you locked up for the weekend.

I was also in on the original buy. I got my flaps - without instructions or brackets. I am still staring at them trying to figure out what I want to do. I can probably install them with the directions provided on North U's web-site. But overall, it really sux. A

Norht Urs: What ??? This is all public information...He has defrauded us and you are telling me that this is harassment by asking for my money back? We are not bound by the same laws as credit/debt collectors and can call him at home/work/friends/granny's house to get a hold of him.
I will do what ever it takes to get my money back and if that means calling granny and having her put pressure on him then so be it.
The 20 year old punk kid will learn to be honest and play fair.

<FONT face="Comic Sans MS">All I'm saying is that where much of this thread seemed to be headed was the far side of what is legal- collections agencies have to play by the rules too, and harassing grandma to get money from their children/grandchildren is definitely NOT one of the rules... I just don't want anyone to end up with a record because they are pissed off and do something stupid (not that I'm saying you or anyone else is/are/have/will). I'm simply stating 'let cooler heads prevail.' If you think I am wrong, you are perfectly welcome to your opinion. My opinion is that some things said/done/suggested to be done are dangerously skirting the law, that it is posted in a public forum, and that it isn't wise to carry on as such.... don't shoot the messenger please. [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif[/img] I happen to be very familiar with the letter of the law, and I'm just asking you all to watch yourselves, not suggesting you should sit back and relax while you're being swindled.

Just like North Ursalia was saying, lets play out a senario.
Lets say, the person in question is beat to a pulp. The police ask him who might have a grudge against him. Punk boy says, maybe person x,y and z from the i-club. And their you are.
Bottom line, communicating a threat is against the law. Don't put yourself in a situation where it looks like you are doing such a thing.
If you are going to have someones kneecaps done........(insert Nike slogan here)

Mysteriously writes me as well:
"HI aaron, I just got back into town on friday, I left the flaps with my
fiancee to mail and she did, Chosenwon from the I clubs were sent out the
exact same day as yours were...etc..."
We'll see if he comes through or if he is full of it.

Brian,
I see what you are saying. And you do make a valid point. And we may be skirting the edge. BUT...2 things.
1.) I was late on my first car payment, I had no contact info for the company, as they were supposed to send me the billing info, I did not receive it and the dealership was no help. To make a long story short, In one day, they called my Parents in NY, called my work, my wife's work, and several of my neighbors. It was straightened out that day, but they DID call everyone under the sun.
2.) We let cooler heads prevail for several months. (guys on the first GB). I let it go for several weeks as did TeamSUBARU. I exhausted every other means of collection that I could. And only when I called his Grandmother, did he re-contact me. Coincidence? Maybe. I don't care. When I get my flaps, I will be happy, and I will leave him be. And depending on the situation, I might write grandma, and thank her for passing on the message and let her know I got everything ok.
Matt, I don't think he comes here very often, if at all. I doubt he checks his pm's.
Ethan,
That is funny, I saw that too. coincidence?
BTW gentlemen. I think Zach has at least been watching this thread. If he told TeamSubaru that "...shipped out the same day as ChosenWon's...." He must check here. I'm almost positive I did not tell him what my screen name was here. I joined about the time that he left. soooo.....

How much were the flaps when he was selling them on the group buy? He ripped a few people off for that price!
100 sounds way too high since you can buy uncut sheets for half of that at Susque's website and also from Primm.

Yes we got ripped. At that price I know I was expecting brackets. But they didn't come with the brackets. Zach then told us that he'd make the brackets for us. Then he left the iClub.

Mine showed up today and the punk mailed em on Saturday the 5 of March after he lied and said he mailed em before he left town a week before that.[img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/mad.gif[/img]
They are really thin plastic and are too rigid. My stock ones are way better than these are.
I wish I had seen this thread a long time before I ordered my flaps from him...

Wow, no kidding.
I have not recieved mine yet. They are probably in the mailbox now.
But I tell you this, If they arn't worth $50, I will get my money back. I could have gone to autozone and spent $20 for decent flaps, but paid extra for "quality" stuff.

I don't believe that it is against the law to make threats against anyone other than the President of the United States. IANAL though so don't sue me if I'm wrong.
And I found some great flaps at Autozone for like $12 that I'm going to cut down for my Outback (the outback flaps are too rigid and will pull the rear bumper off).
