Anyone paint there FMIC??

Hey whats goign on?? i purchased a fmic for my sti about 5 months ago and now im looking for a nice "stealth" look, had neone had success with paint holding up on there fmic's??? im looking to paint it black.. so here u go...

1. What type of paint have u used? has it held up?
2. Does it affect performance of the fmic?
3. Any pictures??

And your question was answered in the 4th post, where the poster pointed out the fact that you didn't search. Which also makes people not want to help you when you ask a question that has been asked many times before, and could easily be answered by using the search button.

haha this thread is hilarious, but to answer your question. use radiator paint, you can get it anywhere. no worries about thermal conduction. also... who cares how long it lasts you can always touch it up. one thin coat is more than enough.

I painted my Turbo XS, high temp Krylon in a rattle can....noticed no differences.

I hate the fact that this gender-equality crap has gotten into our grammar. Just say "his." Like every other language. It's implied that it could refer to a person of either gender. When in doubt, masculine form is default.

I will give you one answer and the only answer you will ever need. Eastwood Radiator Black paint. You will NOT be dissappointed. Trust me! I painted my buick front mount and you cant even see it. And its easy to paint and it holds up well.

I have an 86 Buick Grand National that runs 11's on 93 octane and alky injection. Im sure it can see 10's but I don't want to break anything. Make sure whatever you use, its radiator black and not just plain old regular black spray paint. The radiator black is designed to insulate so to speak.

OP: Have your intercooler coated with black thermal dispersant. Unless you live in a small town, you probably have a local shop that does thermal coatings. It will probably cost between $100 and $200. The upside is that in addition to stealth, you will actually have a more efficient intercooler.

Actually, that's not entirely true. While His/Her is the more common, preferred usage to show singular possession, the use of "their" as a a singular antecedent with indefinite or generic meaning has been found in English writing dating back to the 14th century, and is still prevalent in the writings of our age's most celebrated writers. While it was dubbed bad grammar by certain scholars, it falls into the same category of ill-begotten logic that has made double-negatives such a bad idea (in latin, negatives were added with prefixes, thus it was impossible to create double negatives). In truth, both were the result of applying latin grammatical rules to a language whose structure has a much stronger derivation from germanic languages than romantic languages. In English, romantic influence falls mostly to word construction, but not to grammatical useages. So go ahead and use "their" all you like to express indefinite or generic singular possession. Just be sure to spell it correctly.

As for the topic at hand, I know that there's a special black IC paint out there that doesn't affect performance. I think it's called stealth paint or something similarly obvious.

Nasioc is a wonderful forum. It would be cool if everyone realized that we are all on the same team. Yes the kids grammar was appalling but tell him in a nice way. Yes he should have searched but telling him the answer would have been as easy as telling him to search. Then when yo-yo's like me search, we don't have to root through "go search" posts. I think people need to care more about grammar and concentrate when typing. I also feel we need to be more tolerant of young kids that grew up with text messaging. I've seen it, it's like Pig Latin. That makes sense. Would a high-heat black paint work? I painted my horn after I went pillar-less with a black mat high-heat paint from Pep-boys. I do not want to lose performance by accidently insulating the core.
