thanks for checking.
people talk crap when they don't even test or even check.
well i'll just enjoy the many comments of people who don't have anything better to do than spend their lifes in this forum making useless comments.
so please keep posting useless comments, it makes me laugh!
I don't most of us are talking crap or posting useless comments. Even if we haven't "tried" it, we can still understand the concept of having to look way down under the steering wheel to check on the boost, and that we can imagine this to be too far of a glance for driving safety.
And by the way, on a drive this afternoon, I did check by looking down toward the location you installed your gauge. To me, it wouldn't work, especially during spirited driving, and especially while at a track when sometimes you're feet from another racer going around turns at high speed.
Good luck with your location.

I do not compete in track events. So can someone please explain the to me the reason why, feet away from another car on a track "going around turns at high speed", you would be looking at the boost gauge?
In that condition, it seems like your eyes ought to be swithcing between looking ahead on the track to see the upcoming turns and looking at the nearest car to you. Possibly with the occasional glance at the Tach.
I can think of no logical reason to even be concerned with what the boost gauge would say in this condition......unless you thought there was a problem with the car.
man... think about what crushes into your knees in the case of frontal impact...
The one crash I had years ago my knees went up and into the dash and broke the key off into the ignition on my tercel. That sucked because the motor was still running while the coolant was running out into the street from the rad. Didn't really matter since it was totaled anyway, but it gave me something else to deal with at the time of an accident.
BTW I am 6'5" and no way it would start to work for me have the gauge there. Maybe a really short guy could get away with it though??

if the driver is so short, he'd have extra distance for his eyes to travel glancing between the road and the gauge the OP suggested, and that makes it even more dangerous... this really isn't a cool idea at all.
To the OP: If you wanna talk logic and say we haven't tried it and start complaining, then do you need to die before to know it's bad for you?

Don't get me wrong, I also agree that it doesn't appear an optimal spot for safety reasons to say the least. But (really nitpicking here) I would think someone shorter would have an easier time with it. The lower the vantage point (in terms of eye location) the less angle the eye would travel down to see it.

i checked it out on my drive home today and it seems like a very crappy place for a gauge. but hey, more power to ya!

I did it today too. It really was uncomfortable. You must be really short.

Michael, you're correct. I retract that statement. Being so close to another car at the track one wouldn't look at the boost gauge, but during spirited driving under any other condition I often glance at the boost gauge out of curiosity. It's probably to see how much "more" I have in reserve to push the car. I'd imagine that at the track this curiosity might come in at certain point, but, like you, I haven't tracked my car yet. I plan to, and for some reason I'd imagine that at some point or another I might glance at the boost gauge on the track -- that is, unless my driving instructor tells me not to (I'll be taking track lessons before actually racing my car on a track).

Is this for real? Is it a boost gauge or somewhere for him to pee in?

honestly the worst location I've seen. Nobody's "picking on you", and it is your car. Unless you're Tatoo from Fantasy Island, it's a bad spot. If you're that short, you're going to need a booster seat to see out the windshield. I have to ask, what were you thinking?

Not completely read all the posts but this is my opinion.
Today when i was driving home i tried to image hving a gauge at that spot. I really had to look down and not paying attendion on the road, + that location is really closed to my knee I will be ended up kicking it open someday. And funny thing is you cant see the gauge when you turn your wheel unless you only look at it when your steering is dead straight lol

I like to mount my boost gauge onto a hat while I'm driving and check it while I look in my rear view.
But seriously tho I'm all about the stealthy look so I'll test this out today. I have rather good peripheral.
