bjorn240 10-16-2006 12:09 PM
It was during the stage, not during transit.
Yeah, I realize that now. I was going by the SWRT news ticker, which was reporting that he went off on transit to stage. Eurosport coverage shows what happened quite vividly.

He reported overheating then low voltage, next stage his alternator went out.

Leave it to Colin to find the weakness!

He did run pretty well for being out of a WR car for so long.
Congrats to Henning Solberg on his first WRC podium :D

OMV Peugeot's Henning Solberg finished on the podium in the WRC for the very first time on the Rally of Turkey on Sunday, when he brought his 307 WRC car home in third.

Henning was in contention for a solid result from the off and eventually took the final place on the rostrum by just over 20 seconds. The Norwegian was extremely emotional at the finish and even admitted to having shed a tear or two, after his co-driver, Cato Menkerud was also overcome at the finish, following the 28.55 kilometre-run through Olympos that brought the event to a close.

"I think it's the first time we have cried in the car, two tough guys. Cato started crying, so I had to join him," said Henning. "It's not easy being the big brother to Petter, but I'm catching him step by step.

"I always try to fight. You can never give up. On the penulimate stage a brake pipe broke in the car. I have been a mechanic since I was six years old, so I worked hard and fixed it. We weren't very fast, but we could make it and I'm very happy with third place. It feels very good to be close to Petter. He has all the experience on all these rallies and it feels good to be closer to the top. It's not easy, you have to work hard." :D
The interview eurosport has of him after the finish cracks me up. Those brothers are great on camera.

Now why can't the alternator die when Loeb is driving? :furious:

That guy gets all the breaks......
