Debadge my wagon???

Help I can't decide!!!!!
I have seen many wrx sedans with the "subaru" taken off the back but not any wagons?
Do you guys think it would look good if I debadged my silver wagon?? Just the subaru part.
Input or pics would be great

i debadged my '04 wagon and i think it looks good. i also put a jdm pink border wrx emblem on to replace the blue border one.

I bought my wagon pre-debadged...
I would have debadged it anyway because I think debadging cleans up the whole rear end of the car.

It's a matter of personal preference - I think the back looks too plain without the subaru letters - others clearly feel differently - do what you want!

i just did my psm wagon last week and love it

debadge the S U B A R U and replace with 06 Star emblem ;)

I was on the fence re: debadging my bugeye wagon. It was Aspen white, though, so the letters / badging actually didn't stand out much, if at all, so I decided not to do it. WRB, black, SRP, and any other dark color DO look better debadged, in Wagon form IMO. White and silver, it's your call.
I miss my wagon :-( more than I thought I would but damn the STI is a kick in the ass.
I'd say it's up to you - silver looks ok either way.

I removed the Subaru and Impreza. I left the WRX on but I'm thinking about removing that too.

I was also considering keping the S U B A R U off, and puting the blue star badge in its place in the corner.

I've been going back and forth on debadging my PSM sedan. My car is an 03, and originally I didn't do it because the WRX was not as well known at the time and liked the idea of people wondering what just kicked thier ass only to see that it's a Subaru. I do prefer the cleaner look though, so now I'm considering removing the "Subaru" and the "Impreza" and just leaving the WRX.
| Skell | 04-01-2006 04:59 PM |
i would leave it alone maybe, why isnt this in OT? or was it?
| Rallyroo | 04-01-2006 05:36 PM |
OT doesn't exist anymore. OT got sent to the bottom of the abyss. It's been replaced with i-club.

| HAL1 | 04-01-2006 06:20 PM |
De-badging has bever been in OT. Its usually general or int/ext modification.
| trbo-4 | 04-01-2006 06:48 PM |
First thing I did to my wagon when I got it. I left just WRX on the back.
| petemac | 04-01-2006 09:33 PM |
I have always liked the turbo on the back like gpatmac...enough so that I am pretty tempted to do it myself.
| John__Gotti | 04-02-2006 01:07 AM |
Do the debadge, I was really up in the air about doing my sedan and pictures just don't do debadging justice. Makes the rear end just look so clean. Was thinking of putting a WRX emblem back on but after seeing it with everything gone it just seems right to leave it this way.

Thanks for all the reply's everybody.
gpatmac your "I love lamp" reminded me how funny Anchorman was.
Anyways...well it seems people have varying opinions. Still deciding but will probably do it especially if I get a day off of work and school and need somethin to do.
I could always put it back on right? So I heat it up with a hair dryer, then saw back and forth with dental floss or fishing wire? I also borrowed some 3M adhesive remover from my friend that did his last week but he's got a silver 05 sedan.
Thanks

It's funny to run across this thread today. I was washing my car Saturday and started thinking about removing the Subaru lettering from the trunk lid...enough to snap a pic and run it through Photoshop. If the upcoming weekend is nice I may have to actually do it.

Nice comparison! I think I'll do the same this weekend. It's supposed to be in the 80's and clear so what better time!
As a side note, it looks like your car doesn't have any wheels and is floating in the driveway. Did you do a speeder conversion to make navigating the dunes of Tatooine easier? :p

Anyone know if the method on that video (the one most of you used I'm sure) will work with removing the 4 rubber roof strips on top of my wagon? Seems like the same, at least similar, foamy adhesive holding them on there.

No. They are actually bolted to the roof if you are talking about the rails. Do a search for roof rail delete.

No dude, I specifically stated "4 RUBBER ROOF STRIPS" in my post. Don't know of any wagons with 4 roof RAILS. I'd never 'delete' my roof rails anyway, I carry too much of my lifestyle upon them. Thanks for the effort though.

I bought mine de-badged and re-badged it a few months later as it looked too plain for my tastes.
Plus every time I see a car either missing badging or with non-stock badging layouts, I always assume that the car had been hit and the body shop knew nothing about the proper placement of the badges.
My name is Chris and I have OCD* tendencies.
