I started to debadge the whole trunk and came to the impreza sign. I left it. I thought I would see how it looks for a little while before removing it. I also thought of just putting the Subaru star emblem on in the middle. I think I like it, but too early to tell. should it stay or go?

I went ahead and bit the bullet last night and used the debadging technique in the video that was (I believe) posted somewhere on page 1. If it weren't for the big blister on the tip of my middle finger I'd say it was a perfect success.

I had a blister the size of a jelly bean on my thumb for weeks.

I say we sue the people in the video for failing to give us proper warning on the hazards of debadging your trunk lid. ;)

I agree. I have the same damn blister on my thumb too. Definitely use a soft towel to rub the glue off. NOT your fingers!

Well finally after more than a week of posting this thread I decided to debadge the "subaru" from my silver wagon.
I used the method from the video that was on here. Worked great. Luckily I live with my girlfriend who owns a hair dryer.
Anyways I think it looks much better, especially in person rather than on pictures.
If I ever decide to re-badge I guess I could use the 3M double sided adhesive or something like that, right?
Thanks for all the info and pics guys.

just askin....how hard is it to rebadge after your debadge? Did you take measurements or pictures or what? All I can imagine would be crooked or not being able to get the spacing correct.
BLUE STAR BADGE WAS ORIGINALLY IN THIS PIC
This is what I want to put ON. Where can I get one that attaches with 2-sided tape?

Picture is not straight on (like it should have been). I got this piece off of http://www.subarugenuineparts.com/. Great Great service.
Built up the concave backside with 3m automotive tape, applied to a clean (obviously) and somewhat warm surface. No issues to report after many car washes and the elements.
edit:
Removed tabs with a hacksaw blade, very carefully. Then trimmed with a fresh razor.

Yes, they've got holes. Well, I'm not positive on the wagon but absolutely sure on the sedan.

^^^ While the part numbers are different for the '06 sedan/wagon rear emblems, both parts have the two posts, unfortunately. If I could remove the rear stars emblem on my '06, I would without hesitation.
