no offence.. but I like it:) :)
I think it has its own fezic to it.. looks clean..way to go
rayder 04-18-2002 01:06 PM

hopefully you can see that the second blade moves out and up depending on where you would like to position it. I can't take great pics... but i tried. :)
smp291 04-18-2002 01:07 PM

Not my thing but damn it looks sick!
Dat 04-18-2002 01:15 PM

How much does it cost you if you don't mind? and how is the fitment?
rayder 04-18-2002 01:18 PM

retail price is $649 with carbon blades, or $449 with fiberglass blades. I put this wing on with a tech, and it took us maybe 30 minutes including removing the stock wing. It lines up very well with the trunk, and fits flush.

The coolest thing about this wing is the adjustability of the rear blade. It's pretty unique.
WoRteX 04-18-2002 02:10 PM

woah!

I like that I like that! ooo I might be buyin that. looks very very nice!!! Good job!
ATX25RS 04-18-2002 02:11 PM

i'll give the ::thumbs up:: on this...that wing looks cool:D

atf78 04-18-2002 04:44 PM

 I like it!! Will the fiberglass blade also feature adjustability? When can I buy one :D??

-Anthony Festino
In2Deep 04-18-2002 08:02 PM

Looks good!
karazyman 04-18-2002 08:40 PM

have a full side view??

i think i'll be saving up for this wing.....
2OHOH2WRX 04-18-2002 08:45 PM

Hey man, does the blade adjust itself once you hit 50mph like in those POS wannabe-fast Porsches? :p :alien:

Schweet :D

Any chance you could organize a GB for say, 10-20 of these for $600 shipped, or $650 painted & shipped?

Purdy plz? :D:D:D
Die Civic 04-19-2002 02:28 AM

damn if i had a wrx, i'd order it right now, that wing is bad a$$
amp5 04-19-2002 10:11 AM

very nice, perhaps an alternative to my desire for the very expensive prodrive unit...
WoRteX 04-19-2002 10:34 AM

DROOL

the more i look at it. the more i like it. the more i want it. damnit!
when is this sucker goin on sale? and yes a GB would be real nice!!!!! :D :alien:
wRx14pSi 04-19-2002 10:57 AM

i see that the rear blade sticks upwards.. is there anyway to buy it without that rear blade? or can it be takened off?

Is it 2 piece blades or on ____/ shaped carbon fiber blade?

I preferred _______ instead of ________/

wing viewed sideways

MOST important ... does it bolt on to stock holes?
rayder 04-19-2002 11:07 AM

the rear blade is adjustable... you cann swing all the way down under so that it is flat, and looks like a one piece blade. You would like it. :)

Warning... this creates REAL downforce. If you get this wing, please mount it with the supplied hardware. No 3m installation jobs, and then calling to complain that your wing flew off!:p
25RS 04-19-2002 11:13 AM
If you get this wing, please mount it with the supplied hardware.
does it bolt on to stock holes?
rayder 04-19-2002 11:21 AM

It uses the stock holes... plus two more on each side near the edge of your trunk lid. The holes in the wing are predrilled, threaded for the stock holes, and reinforced with aluminum. With two people, a Makita, and allen wrench set... about a 30 minute install if you take your time.
Stripe 04-19-2002 12:20 PM

Nice :D , will there also be a non adjustable wing as well.
rayder 04-19-2002 12:27 PM

no there will not... like i said, the lower blade can be adjusted to tuck all the way in. Essentially, it is a single blade once you drop it all the way down.
WoRteX 04-19-2002 01:36 PM

AGAIN

when does it go on sale??? :alien:
wrxracer 04-19-2002 03:13 PM

new wing!!!!!!!! WOW

two thumbs up!!!! any one want to buy a 22b replica wing i have painted WRBP? ha ha lol.. yes please let us know when this thing goes on sale.. must have with the carbon blades..:D :D
Stee Flo 04-19-2002 04:55 PM

Yes, when does it go on sale, how much... ect. Info if any please
wRx14pSi 04-19-2002 05:32 PM

email me w/details .. when its for sale [email protected] very interested

so its only 2 holes in total i have to drill?
rayder 04-19-2002 09:23 PM

two holes on each side, with the two existing stock holes = 4 holes on each side total. You don't HAVE to drill the non stock holes.. but is HIGHLY recommended if you plan on using the increased downforce positions.

You can buy these wings starting next week.

Please read the thread for pricing. I have already stated it twice.
rayder 04-19-2002 09:25 PM

you might want to try Irvine Subaru... Ryan will probably be able to offer a decent discount for the wings.
mturmel 04-19-2002 10:17 PM

Nice

Hopefully they'll make a matching front lip, would not want to create too much downforce at the back so your steering feels "loose" at high speed! Be careful playing with downforce! You want something balanced front/rear for everyday use. Would be great to be able to tune your wing!

There was a good thread a few months back on the wind tunnel testing performed by Prodrive with and without a front lip...

But still a very nice piece!

WRoyX 04-20-2002 12:01 AM

wing or lose...

i know the blade is c/f but what is the rest of it made out of?
is the whole blade adjustable or just the little piece that kicks up? i know you said reinforced with aluminum...so what does the whole thing weigh? i know you gave two prices, do both prices include painting? what are those things on the side, reflectors? do they light up? can you make a wing with out the reflectors? it looks a little honda-ish with the reflectors..or maybe you can replace em with cf templates instead...now thats hot...

W Roy X
rayder 04-20-2002 01:39 AM

the lower blade swings up and out... come to the show and check it out.. it's easy to understand when you see it, but maybe hard to explain.

there are no reflectors on the side. those are Kaminari emblems. i have not weighed the wing. Kaminari does not paint.. sorry. the pedastals are made of hand laid fiberglass composite...
WRX34 04-20-2002 11:06 AM

Who will sell these bad boys? I want to be put on a list! I've been waiting a long time(1 year) for the perfect wing for function and looks and this is it for me. Damn that's hot!

WRX34
JaiMak 04-20-2002 05:16 PM

Finally something different, if I saw another 22B/Version5 replica wing made to fit the WRX I was gonna barf :barf:

Notice the blitz Technospeed rims? N-I-C-E..
Cozmo 04-20-2002 06:28 PM

anyway to get one out of 100% carbon fiber instead of FG/CF mixed? Does Kaminari do cust CF work??
DoctorNick 04-21-2002 02:53 AM

I want one...put me on "the list"
rayder 04-21-2002 12:35 PM

Sorry, we do not.
GoodFinder 04-21-2002 11:14 PM

Always nice to see these alternatives!

GoodFinder :)
plucky 04-22-2002 05:08 PM

rayder: this wing is lighter than the Prelude KTR wing right? I know you dont have any numbers on it but if it is a lot lighter then I would definately like to get my hands on these. Becase that Prelude wing was just too damn heavy.
rayder 04-22-2002 05:34 PM

i don't think it is that heavy at all. I will try to weight the next set i guess... you just better not be one of those guys who asks weight on bodyparts, and have a wall of subwoofers in your car!
TBreu007 04-22-2002 07:43 PM

I like it..
Cardwizz 04-22-2002 07:53 PM

Does it fit both the WRX and the 2.5 RS??
rayder 04-22-2002 08:05 PM

it only fits high performance vehicles... j/k!:p

I will have to do a test fitment and make adjustments in a new mold if needed.
plucky 04-22-2002 08:49 PM

 I'm passed that, i'm trying to more performance and nice look. Yeah my prelude had wall of subs and so it didn't matter to me much when I found how heavy the KTR wing was(stupid me bought it and thought it was light...live and learn).
Conduit 04-23-2002 01:16 AM

I am guessing those are 17in Z1 wheels, correct? Out of curiosity, how much do those weigh?
take care,
rob
rayder 04-23-2002 02:41 AM

not sure how much they weigh.. they aren't lightweight though. :)
WRX34 04-24-2002 12:35 PM

I'm agreeing on the wing...nice to see something new that looks good and is functional! I'm finally getting one now!!!!

As for all the weight Q's....you guys are worse than a bunch of teenage girls!!!!!hahaha

rayder 04-24-2002 01:13 PM

the wing with all hardware came out to about 15lbs.
blaznasn 04-24-2002 03:57 PM

how come they opted not to put a base on the wing?
rayder 04-24-2002 04:09 PM

we did at first... we thought it looked to bulky, heavy, and more expensive to ship... also would have problems mounting the blade!
blaznasn 04-24-2002 07:43 PM

one more question, how come this wing is so much cheaper than the celica one, which is around 1000, with the carbon?
rayder 04-24-2002 10:29 PM

the Celica race wing is the same price... where did you get the $1000 price???
blaznasn 04-25-2002 12:28 AM

oops, i was thinking about a different wing.
rayder 04-26-2002 12:50 AM

hey guys, if you want this wing... try contacting ryan from irvine subaru... [email protected]

they are getting the first shipment.
Cofusion 04-26-2002 03:35 PM

That wing looks great kinda looks the the Rally wing.
rayder 04-26-2002 04:05 PM

glad you guys are digging the wing... :)
WRX Pilot 04-27-2002 03:34 AM

LMAO!

And to add to that....... putting the Suby on a diet when the driver needs to loose 50lb's!

That wing is awesome. Saw it at the show in long beach and took some pics of it (not as good as the posted ones).
First I had the OEM wing, then a MRT 22b rep, now no wing at all! But I like this one alot. Very similar to the WRC Prodrive wing but doesn't hang way off the back of the deck lid. Perfect. I would like to see the all glass version if you have any pics of it. Not into CF.
WRX Pilot 04-27-2002 04:00 AM

Show pic.
topher 04-28-2002 02:02 AM

i think it would be sleeker if the cf part of the wing was painted
