My guess is that there are guardrails now.

man..
question #1 : how many times a year do people push the limits of their vehicles on that road?
honestly!
no one lives out there! (well almost no one) and usually only during the summer
Answer for Q#1: one day a year! i dont think many people are able of putting their car in the ditch or water there! Especially now that it is PAVED! pfff.. maybe if it was dirt, but still .. :sadbanana:

Actually there are a lot of cottages and homes out there now. Eels Lake is surrounded by private lots just like every other lake in that part of the world.

yeah you have a point, i noticed that when i walked the upper part of the stage last year, but it would mostly be cottages i assume, although i saw people still there last november...
shoot, who wouldnt want a nice little place out there, talk about serene! :p

See the top of the culvert that is sticking out on the left (white box inside the arc of the steel railing). That's the culvert that a car bounced off two years ago. They were headed for the creek when the tire hit the top of the culvert and bounced the car back onto the road. The car continued to finish the event.
The post and wire railing on the other side starts half way down the hill and half way round the corner, so on a northbound pass if they loose it in the first part of the corner they'll slide sideways into the first post.

yeah that culvert has kept cars on before, i have footage from the 80s and cars have stayed on the road because of that thing!
and the rail will just launch them, because of the angle towards the post.. :sadbanana:
