KC, I figured you would be bumping this thread back up with some results... but then I talked to my buddy Mr. Hurst and he said you had a bad weekend. After all that talk huh? :p

Woo hoo! My co-driver, Robert Maciejski, won the novice class at NY. (650 points). I don't think he ever even autocrossed before.

PPTthththhhh.
That's all I got to say about that.
1st run under LFB in a turn, foot slipped off the brake (foot still somewhat on gas) whoops. 2nd run, nailed everything, coming into right hander before finish flying, hit brakes hard, hit bump ABS.... just along for the ride at that point.
I guess GM did learn something from Subaru afterall... ICE MODE!
haha, he might try to sneek the CM car in the back just in case :o
wouldn't need a CM to set a faster time then that cobalt. a hyundai with a 5sp manual would have been sufficient. autocrossing a car with a tranny that thinks it is smarter then you isn't very fun.
i did beat the old man, but it was as much luck as it was skill. the cobalt has a few things about it that make it not that great for performance driving. if you overstepped any part of that, ABS in kc's case, the damn tranny in mine, you lost time. for me, the stupid pig car upshifted to 3rd in the first slalom and didn't want to go down to 2nd until i got to the turn around, at which point it decided 1st was a better idea and we proceded to turn into a tire smoking understeer fest. finally get it going, overshoot a braking zone by a bit, understeer like crazy again, then have to deal with the stupid thing thinking 3rd was the right gear again. very frustrating. hint for revitup, lock out every gear above 2nd. it'll be substantially easier on the equipment and drivers won't have to luck out and get a car that has a good shifting gearbox.

It really is a crapshoot with those cars. I did OK I guess- wish we were using Azenis this year. :(

haha, no. I meant, if you beat him. You could sneek the CM car into the back of his tahoe so you'll have a ride home. It was a joke, because obviously the CM will not fit in the back of a tahoe.
But I agree, the Cobalt tranny was a pos. Our cars in dallas had some type of block off plate that would only let you slide it into "D". If I had the option, I would've left the damn thing in 1st gear.

Well, frankly, I thought the Cobalts were less of a disappointment than the traction-and-active-handling-enabled Corvettes. At least you knew ahead of time that the Cobalt was going to suck. Definitely a set of Falkens (or Yokes or 'Kooks) would have made driving that car a little more enjoyable. Throw on a set of shocks, too, while you're at it....
And the Impala SS? What a joke.
I did the racing line session something like 4 times. The first time, Roger Foo kept talking to me, and I never really paid attention to the course, so I was kind of driving blind. Still managed to drop the "girl score" down 0.8, but I still went and bought another ticket. I ran the exact same time (to the thousand), while my boyfriend dropped 0.7. I bought another ticket, and dropped 0.6, but my boyfriend still had me by a tenth, but for some reason, Foo said we could both take another run for free. In the end, I was about 0.15 faster....... but, Pat won the overall city title while I was merely 8th, which I guess is better bragging rights. ;)
Priebe and GJ Dixon showed up, as did Mike King and Alan McCrispin.... where were you, Keith? ;)
