The scoop is rice imo.
<----------Then again, I hate scoops and wings if they aren't functional.

Good...then you should love a Roof scoop...It is more functional than the window itself!

Well, as a side effect from Rita we got some rain and wind today. Which is what I wanted. Until I noticed that it was still leaking slightly. The entire front part of my headliner by that little flap of a useless sunvisor was soaked. I think it was mainly as I was driving that did it, since I checked 3 times during the rain at work and it was still dry. I guess I'll be taking some time this weekend to check for proper nut/bolt/screw tightness and applying some silicone sealer to holes.
Don't let this scare you off from doing a roof scoop. We had no instructions (except Japanese) and I couldn't find anything online, so we might have gotten something wrong. I don't mind working the kinks out, honestly, if it will help somebody down the line.
As for the headliner creasing during the install, I was a little worried about it myself, until we got it down. It is quite sturdy by itself. To cut it, we used a brand new razor blade, and it cut like butter. Just take it nice and slow, methodical, cutting small pieces out until it matches up to what you need.

I installed my roof vent a few weeks ago. After reading this thread I think my gasket is upside down. It does get noisy at about 50mph. Is there a picture of how it should like from the outside?

The seal should come from out of the car and actually smush itself on the under side of the "Flap".Making an Airtight seal.
I have a pic somewhere but just flip it upside down. you only have to remove the 2 bolts holding the Arm to the trim peice and thats it.Flip it upside down if the rubbery seal part is coming into the car.

The "smushy" part goes up towards the sky. Once I flipped it around the wind noise died down a lot. And it didn't leak in through the opening in the car warsh.
