Syms 2006 Kit part 2

cefoskey 04-10-2006 09:12 PM
Ok so are coilovers worth the time of day? Or should I just go simple springs and struts and sways?
coilovers are probably over the top for a daily driver, you will REALLY want to drive on them before buying a set.

many have said they are dissatisfied with coilovers for numerous reasons

1) could accomplish same goal with struts/springs for fraction of the cost
2) setting all four corners to their desired height/stiffness can be a pain in the ass
3) most people who buy coilovers tend to set it and forget it (I mean really, how often are you going to wake up and say hm, lets drop this baby another 2mm and see how she handles)
4) This is speculation but I've heard coilovers don't last as long as struts/springs, but i guess that varies with a lot of things

etc etc

I'm sure there are better things you can do with the several hundreds you'd save from not doing coil overs.

Aright sounds good to me then. So a nice set of springs and some struts. Any recomendations?
Hey if your parents want to buy you the kit, more power to you. $hit that is saving you alot of cash, and any Impreza will look hott with it. I personally like the ING kit the best, if I only had $810 dollars for the front bumper :( BTW I paid 22K OTD for my TR. ;)

And aimetti check out Japanparts for those parts:

You should check out the Aqua Kit.
It trumps all especially on the 06.

True, the hole is quite massive. Would look hot with someone whos moved there IC to the front. But for an RS/i it might look a little "bleh."

Hey congrats on the score man. And all those people giving you hell over not having gotten the rex, don't worry about it. Honestly although the power is nice you're right you probably haven't been driving long enough to avoid wrapping a tree (no offense). The wrx and the STI are a lot of car for someone in high school or just about out of h.s. In my job I've seen enough kids wrap telephone poles. Make the car look sick. "Oh no you don't have the power to back it up?" So what. Do you like the way the car looks with the kit? Then do what you want. If you live your life worrying about what other people think about what you do then you are going to have a looong life (and not in a good way). Do what makes you happy, that is probably the best advice anyone on this board can give you.

Thanks alot for the support man. Appriciate it greatly.
Im probably going to end up putting on the Syms Kit and just pay for the other mods myself. Much more affordable for me. Id be able to pay for the other mods one at a time as opposed to the kit which would be one large sum.

Thanks again. :)
