ha! I knew they are Terence's old wheels:lol:
I've seen them in person, and they are indeed uber light - the man was obsessed with weight reduction;)
yupyup... unfortunately he left the country before I join the subaru community... never have a chance to meet him... :(

Not sure how low of an offset you can run in STU trim and not rub but TireRack is having a blow out on SSR comps. They are 350Z fitments, so 5-114.3 which fits late STI's. 17X8.5 31mm offset 15.9 lbs $179ea. Or 17X9.5 35mm offset 16.8 lbs $179ea. Hell of a deal.
Max is on an 17X10 35mm so I think these 17X9.5s will work for you.

They'll work on the front, but not on the rear. You need +43 or greater there.
Weigh it with the tire and if it is under 35lbs I will believe you.

ps: good looking wheel. =)
what device is accurate to measure wheel's weight... i weight them on an ikea human bath scale... it's around 34.5lbs (my stock 16" with RE92 showed 40lbs on that scale)

Where did you see those? When I call up the 350Z, even the Base version, it won't even let me look at anything under 18". And Tire Rack doesn't let you look at wheel sizes directly, so there's no way for me to look at what they carry unless I plug in a car make/model.

That may be too low of a weight to get a reasonably accurate reading on a bathroom scale. Try standing on the scale, take note of what you weigh, then weigh yourself holding the tire and subtract the difference.

You must be looking at 2006 and up, the have 18"s and 19"s... Put in 2005 or older and you should be able to pull up the 17"s.

Ah, right your are, ULLLOSE. Looks like they're down to just the 17x8.5"s, as they don't list the 9.5" as an option for me. Thanks!

Take them to your kid's pediatrician or the scales at a laundry if you don't have to get too acurate. Both should work in this range.;)

use speedline or compomotive or team dynamics, they make strong and light wheels. SL and comp, both make a magnezium wheel, and all three have a top notch aluminum wheel.
